FIMMED and something weird

I fimmed a few plants for the 1st time about a week back. My camera sucks and this is the best I could get. It looks like there is some new growth where I cut but on the next node level down it looks like there are 4 new tops. I thought the tops only come from where you cut it? I drew a line to show the best I could. Is this possible? If so I just got 6 tops by doing this on 5 hopefully ladies.

The things I am talking about on the next level down where the line is are on each different node. Thats who I came up with the number 6. That new growth(tops I hope) are only on the 2nd level below the top and it's on all plants.

no sir the tops do not come from where u cut it, the next node to or sometimes the next one below that, once u cut a plant it will not grow back in that spot per say, just a node below

That's awesome then because I got 4 new tops on all of them. They are all between 14 inches to 18 inches. I've never went to flower that small but I am using cfl's and dont want 5 or 6 footers. Do you think it's cool to send into flowering now?

uhh..... aknight- When you FIM the new growth is SUPPOSED to come from where you cut. if you top it the plant will not grow from the cut.

what you see there is just the lower nodes catching up to the top of the plant due to the auxins being diverted from the main growth stem(being toped), these could turn into main stems on there own or you could LST a little to try and coax the plant into making these main stems, in which case you would have six tops IF your fim gave you 4 (i hope that makes sense)

here is some pics from when i FIM'ed my plants to illustrate the growth coming from the cut.

I wish my camera was better but they are definately main stems and there are 2 new growths coming from the top(where I cut) so this is looking like 6(NICE).

What about flowering? Would it be ok to throw them in now or does FIMMING do something I should wait for?

you should be good to start flowering whenever you want then but you could hold out a few to get the new growths developed a bit

I might take the advise and wait another week or two and then send them to flower. Great thanks to all those who responded. I've been using this site for a few years and still think it's got the best members & support!
