Hey what's up guys, I think I have finally smoked enough weed to realize that it may save me money to grow my own instead of dealing with all those middle men/women out there.
I know of a couple of people who grow there own, and it sounded interesting to me so I started researching. I found that every time I looked on the internet this site popped up and so I joined up.
Ok so I went onto craigslist and got a 400 watt Metal Halide Shop light, $20 for bulb and ballast, which was a lot cheaper than any of the other lights I looked at cheapest around $100. It was originally wired for 277v but I messed around and found that the transformer could be set for 120v, 240v, or 277v so I just switched some wires around and felt like a genius when after plugging it in and flipping the switch with a long stick, the thing didn't explode, and the light actually worked!!
The light is meant to be hanged vertically so the bulb is pointing straight down. I am wondering if by rigging it up sideways I would have any negative effects? I noticed that many of the professional grow lights were this way, and I think it would save me a lot of space.
The next step for me is to set up a growing room and procure some seeds. I have been asking around for the seeds and it sounds like I should be able to get some although I am not sure what kind the would be, it doesn't matter much to me as long as it gets me stoned.
I will post some pics of a couple of rooms in mind, and the light once I find my camera, anyways I am totally stoked about starting my own operation, any feedback or input would be awesome
