By the way, Thanks especially to potlike, since this idea was strongly influenced by your design. Basically the pump was too weak to even lift a column of water all the way up even a narrow guage PVC pipe, but the small 1/4" tubing did the trick perfectly, allowing water to pump freely all the way up and out of the reservoir up to the pots.

np man glad it worked out for you

advice when you do get the cash ebay a 350 gallon per hour pump for like $10-$20 and then buy misters to propogate the water efficiently.

Something you may want to consider for now so the roots get good oxygen and it will probably help with the transplant would be to throw some 3%
hydrogen peroxide in there if you have it in the bathroom "medical kit" very minute amounts. Google h202 marijuana to get ideas how much to put per 1 gallon of water.

hydrogen peroxide will fuse with the water leaving an unstable oxygen atom which will stable itself out and oxygenate your water and therefore your roots. an added bonus is that it will kill bacteria, like fungus and algae, however it will also kill beneficial bacteria as well. Regardless, should help out your situation if you have some layring around( maybe 1/4 capful per 1 gallon water)

uhh they usually come with an adjustable valve which you can 'regulate' water flow not to mention the schedule 40 pvc would regulate the flow as well

I think it is better to have more than not enough if you have that luxury

Well, after 24 hours in their new home my babies are slightly droopy. I think part of it may be that I had to reconfigure everything in the grow-room when I transferred them out of the AG, and now the fan blows straight down on them instead of hitting them from the side. This actually sort of helps to almost "tie" them down without actually tying anything, so maybe it's a good thing?

Anyway, after getting more of your advice I did add Hydrogen Peroxide and Epsom salts to my reservoir, both at just a tad less than the recommended dosage. I checked the foam cores of my two smallest plants (the ones with roots that can't reach the water yet) and they were wet , so my drip-line is working!

I am about 10-days into a 12/12 light cycle, but still no apparent signs of sex on my 4 biggest plants. I scoured over them with a magnifying glass and even a high-magnification jeweler's loup, but I can't see any sign that they are showing sex. I know this question has been asked a million times, and I have researched it all over this website and several others. I think I know what I am looking for, and I am pretty sure I am looking in the right place, but I'm not seeing anything yet. Does anyone know if it's normal to see no signs if sex after 10-days in 12/12. By the way, I am at day #35 from seed, using a mix of bag seeds that I have collected through the years. A good number of these seeds probably came from one bag I bought in Cabo, Mexico that had a shit-load of seeds in it (it was also pretty schwaggy weed, but what do you expect for a 500 peso ($45) Mexican 1/2 oz.). The stuff I get in the states is usually sinsemilla, but all the seeds I had were mixed together, so some could be from California, some from Oregon too.

I am hoping that the mexican stuff is a Sativa that was schwaggy just because it was probably grown outdoors in a mexican field full of males and females, and if I can grow it sinsemilla indoors then I will have a nice smoke! I will get pics up soon, but does anyone know if there is a way to tell what kind of plant you have? One of the 4 looks way different from the others. It is a lot less bushy, and the leaves seem like they have much fewer blades, Like instead of 7-9 bladed leaves they have 3-5 blades per leaf.

I sold some junk on eBay, so I have a little cash before payday, I have my eye on some air and water pumps on eBay for fairly cheap, and I was hoping to get some advice on nutrients.

First off, I am still on a really tight budget, so the cheaper the better. I also have a little chemistry training, so I could probably follow a recipe to make up some of my own if anyone has a good recipe. I have head both good and bad things about Fox-Farm, but what about General Hydroponics, or Earth Juice? Also, besides brand, should I be using more than one nute, like they have some for growth, some for blooming, etc. Sorry, I am such a noob at this. I have never grown anything other than a mustache, so in some ways I am surprised I've made it this far.

if your on a budget and want some good nutes you can get one of those gh 3 part nute kit that includes everything in it. Or you can get 1 part nutes. I;m not sure about this but i think GH is the cheapest but very effective nutes you can get. You get more for your money.

flowering? go higher P and K and a minute amount of N... get a little mg and ca as well but not alot or they will lock each other out. If you have some chemistry training you can come up with some cheap sources of each.

This is what I was afraid of. One more question... well, maybe two more.

The seeds are all of dubious origin, and I have a feeling there could be some hermis in the mix, is there a way to tell? I see some buds forming with white hairs on the same plant that has balls, at least I think that's what i am seeing, I will try to get more pics later.

I had some trouble with letting light in during the dark cycle, could this induce hermaphoditism or males?

hermies are usually products of stressful environment.. it sounds like you have given them that. If they are hermies keep them away from rest of plants but make sure it flowers on several buds and collect it's seeds when they grow out. From now on your seeds will be either female or hermie'd but usually you can pull off a good ratio of females.

OK, so I definately had 2 males, of course my two biggest plants :-(.

I had to kill them though, so no am left with Parsley, who is definately a girl, and Dill, who looks girly, but I am not sure.

The two runts just are not growing, they were planted at the same time.

Should I try to clone my female? I have room in my system for 7 plants. Is it too late to clone? can I put them back into veg?

Sweet, So what should I do to get her cloned?

Should I take cuttings and keep them all on 12/12 lights? Should I change the lights back to 18/6?

OK, so it's been a long time since I have posted, but the girls are all doing really well. I have 1 big plants, 4 decent sized clones, and two starter clones in a 12-gallon system under CFLs. I am getting close to harvest. Any idea when they will be ready?
