How would I tie them out of the way without interfering with the buds growing next to them?
Just tie it so it's out of the way...

Do you use like, plastic twist-ties or something?
I don't cause I don't have that problem, I do SOG... no shading at all...

But I would go for those wire twisties, that sounds good..

Thanks for the advice man
You are welcome, but please remember I am still a newb ...

Never take any info from anyone without questioning it and finding the answers...

If it doesn't make sense, it's probably non sense...

In the end, always go with what you know...;-)

you know i heard that! and believed that all the way down to the core.. UNTIL i heard of removing the fan leaves from a seedbank site which provided bubblegum. it may be seni seeds..

but regardless! I agree... sugars are produced in your fan leaves.. I cut them and my buds are doing fine.. but again.. its getting carb loaded by sugars already
Yeah I've read that because growers are feeding the plants the nutrients the ones stored into the fan leaves are not as important. The reason being that the plants are not in danger of being underfed as nature may have expected. Is this true? I have no fucking idea. It doesn't seem right to cut all those fan leaves off to me, I feel like the plant would react negatively, even if I did it over time.

I've read about lollipopping and that sounds like a pretty good idea. Anyone have much experience with that? When do you start trimming those bottom branches? I might try that method out.

I know nothing of carbs and sugars... loaded or unloaded...

I just know that removing too many leaves can be harmful...

And I do not know how many is too many...

Goes to re-iterate what I just said...

Don't take my word for it.. I'm just a newb...

Plus, as I grow, I do not remove ANY leafs, cause there's no need, every bud is in optimal light, and every bud gets their own root to boot!!!:o:lol:

Cheers..

The leaves convert light to energy... or food...

If you take away the plants ability to process light, or diminish it enough... the plant will suffer...

As for lollipoping... I do Single Cola style lollipops...

I strip the lower third of the plant and anything that grows more than one inch...

The idea is to have NO BRANCHES.. so anytime I see one.. I chop it...

Nice, sounds interesting. Do you have any pics or grow journals or anything? I would love to see what one of those looks like when they're all ready to come down.

I have a grow tent best thing i bought, keeps everything nice and neat.
Only problem i had with it was i had a 400watt bulb and it toasted my plants so bought a 250watt bulb and 2nd grow is goin good.

Dimensions - 0.76 (L) x 0.76 (W) x 1.8m (H) <<<<< you need a 250watt for a tent this size
