i have some female plants that i stressed like a motherfucker with light leaks high temps over-under watering. so i have some burned up plants with buds that didnt really fill out. so i want to chop everything off the main stem and use it for butter. do you think this stuff will make good butter? what ratio do i use. i want strong butter. what about grinding up all the leaf and stem so no poking the cheesecloth. just powder? will i lose thc during grinding? i saw a lady on youtube who puts the leaf in the oven for 10 minutes to bring the thc out then grinds it.
I do not know about the
"leaf in the oven for 10 minutes to bring the thc out then grinds it."
method, but the toasting the leaf idea is basically sound. It does not bring out any TCH but it would help you achieve that powdery characteristic which is good. The only down side to pre-toasting is more CBD so a bit more of a sleepy high.
"do you think this stuff will make good butter?"
Like I said before it's (the total TCH) divided up by all the butter. So it comes down to just how much plant matter and just how much TCH is in it. I cant tell exactly how potent the stuff you have is, does it get you high at all when you smoke it? If no, how about when you smoke it first thing in the morning? If no, than if you want potent butter I would not use more than 4 sticks of butter for each paper grocery bag packet tight (tightly hand compacted) bone dry plant material for potent butter.
One thing to keep in mind is that there is always some loss. For example the metal boiling pot you use will need to be washed and some butter will be lost that way. If you wash your hands you will loose some product that way, if you spill a little, ect... So if your butter is super potent when you wash your hands that little bit of butter might be enough to get you high 1 or 2 times. If you make less potent butter the stuff that is lost will not be as much TCH wasted. An extreme example; say you only used 1 teaspoon of butter, all of the butter would stick to the pan and you would have 100% loss. if you use 3 pound of butter and loose a few table spoons, its no big loss, like 1% lost TCH. If you make pound cake with your butter it is easy to eat a large amount of butter. So instead of making super potent butter you could make super yummy cake and eat a lot of it, that way you will maximize the total TCH you get. If you have a small amount of plant matter you will have more loss. When I was trying to minimize effecinticy I did this by making massive batched so I would re use all my dirty pans and utensils for many batches, I would spend many days just making batch after batch of butter. Does this make sense?
An interesting note is when you do that there is a transdermal absorption of TCH because I would not eat or smoke just have the butter on my skin for a long time and I would get so stoned I would pass out. Make more butter and pass out again for days.
