Hey Weed
I have a Older kodak 5 mega pixel dx7590. I wanted to ask...This camera has a white balance setting that will let me change to Daylight-tungsten-fluorescent- and openshade. I wanted to know what you think would be the best to use. I have not tryed to change it yet while shooting pics under my lights. I thought the best would be fluro setting..? What do you think. Should I change the shutter speed as well or anything else? Thanks

Ussually when I shoot under heavy lights like a HPS or MH I like to use a slower shutter speed with no flash and a lower exposure. This way a lot of the background will be washed out with darker tones allowing the plant to stand out more. Also the fluorescent setting on the camera is pre-set for more conventional fluroescents that are used in classrooms and workshops. You need to remember that fluorescents that growers use can be a wide variety of temperatures. This chart should help...

Select the setting that best matches the temperature of your light, which you should know based on what stage of growth you're in...Hope this helps. Let me know if you need some more clarification.

Great Question!:peace:

BTW your pictures are coming out pretty good...I like how you're using the depth of field of the camera and what looks like a fairly low f-stop...good quality!

This forum isn't very kind to posts such as this. You will probably get a warning or something. This is an internet forum, you aren't going to massacre anyone. You seem like you are under 18 and that is also not allowed here. I hope you get banned

Believe it or not most new camera phones have white balance setting on them... I have the LG enV and it has all those settings except for the macro of course...lol. And a good digital camera costs less than $200 dollars these days. Here's a refurbished version of what i have...Canon sd750.
all my pics have been poor quality, (at least i think so), i just thought it was the lighting, and that my camera was a piece of crap.,
