AG works great for getting seeds going. Why 1 seed? I hope it's feminized.

From my experience with the AG (limited I must say, but I have grown some plants in it) you'll need to get an airstone and air pump. The one that's in there doesn't work great.

Go to a pet store and spend $10.00 you should be able to get the pump AND stone for that. Get one just long enough to fit in the res. probably 8" for your setup.

Let it germinate and when you see a sprout WITH leaves start counting that as day 1. Go 2 weeks before you add any nutrients. I would add 1 small tab at 2 weeks (or cut a large tab in 1/2).

Let that do it's magic for 2 weeks then add another small one. After those 2 weeks are done you can flush it all out and start on the large tabs.

There's a really good AeroGarden Guide/Tutorial thread on here that should help you out. The light on the AG is not going to be enough to get any worthwhile bud out of either. Going to need to remove the hood and hook it up with some CFL's or an HID light.

Good luck, look around, read up, there's tons of information here.

You'll need some fans to keep a 400w HPS cool, but for veg you might be alright. With only one plant and a 400w light I would suggest doing some LST with that thing and picking up as many CFL's as you can find a way to rig up. Get that girl nicely bent around and looking like she's 3 or 4 plants and you should be able to pull a pretty good yeild outta that thing.

Airpump---Tubing---Airstone

That's all there is to it :)
Stick the airstone in the bottom of the AG res, make sure it stays down, and that you cover up any exposed tubing(i run mine through one of the 7 AG holes, then just cover in ducktape)

That about covers it.

Great info your getting. I run my airstone hose through the resovoir lid. I also use half a big AG nute from the get go. Then the other half two weeks later. Have tried it both ways and light nutes from the start seems to make em more vigorous to me. Be ready to pull them out and replant them deeper in the sponges at least 3 or 4 times. That weak AG light really makes em stretchy.

its not the hosing you're covering...

(check out the bottom-left corner below)

This picture from my grow shows you what i mean quite nicely. If you don't cover the hole where you have the tubing going in, light will get in and rot your plants.

should the airstone be all the way in the bottom of the res or toward the top? and should i swap the water out afterward since durring the process light will be getting in?

empty the water place the airstone at the bottom of the res with glue wait for it to dry then put water back in now thats just common sense.
