In my life's experience, Pot has always had a Negative Connotation
Or on the news, "Illegal pot growing house raided"
Or from somebody, "You dont smoke pot do you??"
I generally think that most people that say pot (besides people that blazed when pot was a good word) have negative feelings toward Marijuana.
I mean why does the news call it Pot? Why not Marijuana to be correct?
They call cocaine cocaine, not Coke
They call Ecstasy Ecstasy, not beans
What angers me is when they discuss it and refer to it as Pot. I wish they did call it the Neutral word - Marijuana.
I think that when somebody talks about legalizing marijuana and they refer to it as, "pot" it tends to make it look like a bad idea, almost as if the negativity associated with the word pot is transferred into negativity towards the overall effort to legalize the plant.
Am I alone on this one?
I want to hear your thoughts

Whenever I hear my parents say it, it's usually like, "Some kids smoking pot"Wikipedia said:Connotation is a subjective cultural and/or emotional coloration in addition to the explicit or denotative meaning of any specific word or phrase in a language, i.i. emotional association with a word.
