I don't how many hours I've spent researching shit, and it still doesn't amount to actually experiencing it first hand.

I was very well prepared on my first grow. I had researched for a good month, probably about 3 hours a day at least. I had everything it took to get started. Yet, I still had my problems (i.e. nute burn, pH burn, heat stress, minor nutrient deficiencies, and some stem rot. After losing all my plants but one, I had a male, haha). Now, I'm on my second go round, with absolutely no problems as of yet.

I'm not saying that I'm not going to have any problems, but the experience just from one grow has completely changed my abilities.

So, you know what that means, right? That means you gotta stay here at RIU, post more threads of your future grows and teach newbs. Just like you and I were and still are.

That's what I enjoy about this community so much. The learning never stops.


Ok, I'm done rambling now. HAHA.

I too spent weeks, even months, researching the AG, the ups/downs, how to grow, how to buy seeds, how to this/that/etc

....and in the end, I lost my grow because of overconfidence and pride. Remember, knowledge is only power if you put it to use :p

wow, very nice CFL setup!

Couple things i'd say, based on my own CFL grow experience:
1) plants grow TOWARDS the light..i had a bunch of CFLs on one side, they all grew towards that side, leading to wacky-looking plants. Make sure you light coverage is even :)

2) Lots of lights = lots of heat. plants grow poorly above 90 degrees, so especially with just the 1 plant, you may wanna cut down on the lights for a week or two, especially since its young and it cant even use/absorb all that goodness properly :)

3) you got a fan/cooling system in there somewhere/somehow?

The lights are as even as possible at this point. I do have a fan and my temp is usually between 75 and80 NEVER above 85

i am a noob but i go all out on things man i been smokin since 7th grade haha had a soil grow last year but turned hermie on me. got a grow tent on the way so that dont happen this time. but what i need to know is the fan systems for the tents look like i can make that myself and not have to buy a 300 dollarkit on ebay what exactly am i gonna need?

You are absolutely wrong.

Aluminum foil is an excellent reflector from UV to IR(that includes visible light).

i put my nutes in a little too early and my leaves are lookin real burnt... i want to know if i can do anything to help this thing from dieing. here are some pics of her.

just give it regular water.I just finished having the same problem but my plants were in soil.Hopefully your plants can still recover
