i want the ph of the soil to be 6.5ish.. i think thats right.... and the ph of the water to be 5.8.

now, if i pour water that has a ph of 6.5 into soil that has a ph of 5.8 wont that raise the ph of the soil??

and if i wanted to highten or lower the ph of the soil.. do i just pour in ph up or ph down into it?? do i mix it with water then pour it into the soil?

just really confused about it... what i really want to know is how to lower/highten soil ph.. and if my higher ph lvl water will higher the soil ph level.

help!

probably the one favor you can do your self on soil ph is to mix in some dolomite
it acts as a buffer, which tends to help a lot in keeping the ph where you want
1 tbsp per gallon of soil is recommended, though some use a bit more

well,. first of all if you're growing indoors and you start with brand new soil or soiless mix, like promix, with the usuall, pearlite, maybe some worm castings ect. ect..... its already going to be fairly neutral,.. then all you have to worry about is the water and nutes,.....
if you're growing outdoors in the ground, and the soil is bad or maladjusted, you're just throwing mud at the sun, boy!

You want your soil and water to have a ph between 6.1 and 6.8 for soil and you mix the ph up and down into your final solution. You never want to use it by itself. Using a higher ph solution will raise the soil ph but it also depends on how much you flush. If you fert all the time and dont flush on a regular schedule your ph and ppm will be higher. Its recomended that you fert then use water only the next 2 times. I do it every other watering. Good Luck with your grow show!
