you wont even come close to spending half that if you go the way i did! i found 4 pieces of cardboard about 3' x 3'. went to walmart got some chrome gift wrap paper and neatly applied it to each piece of cardboard with clear scotch tape. then i went to home depot and bought 4 clamp lamp light housings and 4 - 23watt(100 watt equivalent) Daylight(6500K) spiral compact flourescent light bulbs(the energy saver ones). bought a roll of string to hang the lamps. bought a thermometer with a hygrometer. also get a timer and a fan(oscilating or stationary). thats all you will need except for soil and pots. i'll include a good cheap soil mix and nutrients list below.
What you need for grow area:
Cardboard = free if you have some lying around most people do
Chrome Gift Wrap Paper = $2 a roll
Clamp Lamp Housings = $7 each
Spiral Flourescent Lights = $6 for a two-pack
Thermometer w/Hygrometer = $3
Timer = $10
Scotch Tape = free if you have some at your house, just like the cardboard!
Fan = $15
Total = $60
Soil Mixture:
Potting Soil = $4 a bag - to hold together the root system
Perlite = $4 a bag - to create air pockets and limited drainage for the roots
Sphagnum Moss = $4 a bag- to retain water need for plant so you wont have to water so much
River Rocks = $5 a bag - to properly drain excess water from the soil so it doesnt cause root rot to your plant
Total = $17
Nutrients:
for veg: Miracle Grow Tomato Plant Food = $5
for flowering: Miracle Grow Rose Food = $5
Miracle Grow Bloom Booster = $5
Total = $15
Grand Total = $92
Ahh the hell with all of that!
Hempy Bucket - Search for it. It's the only way it's gonna happen for that cheap. Especially if your closet already has white walls.
Then just buy the clamp style lights at home depot as suggested above and put as many as you can in there.
Or I'll sell you a 400w HPS light for $75.00 shipped. PM me about that though if you are interested. That would really up your yeild ability to about 4 oz's instead of 1/2 oz the way he suggests it....bunch of silly CFL's. At least get 65w CFL's for cryin' out loud.
