stays relevant.
use your fans and ducting to move air from inside to the outside, and set your portable AC up to cool the room.

dont need to use your AC to cool the bulb, even though this works well too...

I am in nor cal as well what temp is your grow room getting up to?? The way I use my air conditioning is just to keep my house nice and cool. My intake into my grow room is from my house so the temp going into to room is about 73F. You want to keep your temp and humidity like this. Veg should be 65 to 75 % humidity with max 85 F temp. Flower 45 to 50 % humidity and max 85 F temp. My Veg room is 5ft long by 3ft wide by 3ft tall I use a 6 inch inline fan for air eqhaust out the side of the house the intake side is attached to a 600w hps. I have been adding humidity to that room lately due to the summer warming up my flower room is alot bigger and uses a 10 inch inline high out put fan.

I live in central florida where it's been over ninety and has already hit one hundred one day and ninety nine a few others. Throw in almost one hundred percent humidity every morning and it's ungodly hot and humid. I grow in a closet two and a half feet wide, five foot long and eight feet high. I live in an old house with no central air conditioning. I keep my bedroom window unit running twenty four seven and keep my closet door open with a tower fan in front of it to send in cooler, less humid air. My closet still runs between the low fifties and into the mid seventies with humidity and the temp basically stays between eighty and eighty three. I also have a computer fan rated at ninety cubic foot a minute in the ceiling going into my attic to exhaust the warm air. Growing in the summer here in florida had me concerned but all seems to be going well. It's day twenty seven of flowering for me and all is going well. I'm going to pic up some of those damp rid bag things I see to try to lower the humidity, see if that works. Sometimes I think we baby our weed too much, it's still a weed. They manage to survive in nature somehow, that's what I keep telling myself.

how big is the room that your tent is in. The air conditioners will be rated by btu and also sqft it can cool. Another big part is how many cfm is your exhaust fan. I would not put the ac unit in the tent I would just have it in the room that the tent is. That way all of the air being sucked into your grow tent is nice and cool I am running a six inch can fan which I believe draws around 450 cfm in my veg room. I exhaust the air out of the grow room through a drier vent I installed on the side of the house. Make sure that you seal up the exhaust going out your window as best as possible you dont want that 106f air sneaking in through your window. My veg room is 3 feet by 5 feet and 4 foot tall. roughly 60 cubic feet. A six inch fan is a little over kill on full but I have a dimmer I hooked up to it. I can always turn the fan down if I need to. I have found the faster the fan the less temp change between my house and my veg room. But on high I have low humidity due to the fact the air is rushing right through the room. In our area in the summer natural humidity is low 20% in the summer so I have a humidifier in the room on high and the exhaust fan slowed down a little. I am keeping around 65% humidity and about 80f in the room and I am running a 600w hps in that small room. Living in north cali we have an advantage on humidity it is much easier to cool down the room when you can add humidity but our friend above in florida does not have that luxury:bigjoint:
