dude them bitches are looking mad sexy keep that shit up!
thanks D-Dub... glad to have you following along.. might need some LST advice down the road after your PC grow. the strain you grew out, would you guess it was sativa or indica?? curious how well my 100% sativas are going to do in a confined little AG grow.

it had some sativa traits for sure which is quite wierd seeing its suppose to be a 10th generation indica so i dont know leaves me wondering about the VSB

Yeah I wonder how six sativas will do in an AG. I'm glad to see you decided to try different techniques on all the plants... interested to see how things go. Nice work Shack :peace:

Ok, well, no longer an aerogarden.....so then i guess its just a toy then. Plus the resivour is very shallow for deep rooting planyts. And i think marijuana roots are pretty gressive and will nd up strangling each other to death.....but good luck with it.

6 is too may for the ag..gonne be real crowded in there:bigjoint:
yeah i figured it would be crowded. its why i'm flowering NOW. talles plant (before LST) was around 4 inches, and the shortest (just rooted clones) 1 inch tall. i just want to make some nugs to share with friends, and keep my big harvest (from the mama) for myself and my special lady.

careful saying that, Gypsy reads this thread. haha. you can't discredit the AG till you take a look at Gypsy's harvest. he's my inspiration for this grow.

I could have drilled extra holes on my ag and had 10 pure sativas in it...

but I only had 4 clones.. and I didn't even know what I was doing...

It all depends on the size plant you are talking about...

It's all relative...;-) E=MC2...

so i've been ignoring it and it hasn't really become a problem YET!!
there is some white fur growing at the base of the stem.. NOT on the stem!!
just in the little opening of the pot label. its growing on the sponge, not the stem.

now that all the roots are well deep into the res, i went ahead and unplugged the AG pump today. as of about 3 minutes ago, i am officially 100% DWC right now. lets hope those air stones and that beastly air pump don't let me down!!

but about the white fur/fuzz... thoughts?

(also i went crazy around the garden today, cloning lantana, lemon balm, texas salvia (not the psych.), and basil we'll see how those work out.. might do a general gardening thread following their progress... WE'LL SEE!!!

:peace:

Going off my experience, I wouldnt worry about the white stuff on the sponge unless it spreads to the actual stem. After my one plant got stem rot I became a little obsessive about checking out the stems and I saw that they all had the white on the sponge. Freaked me out at first but it never seemed to be a problem. If theres someone around with more experience than me that can explain what this is that would be cool... I just assumed it part of the roots.

gotta see a pic...

but it sounds like some type of fungus that thrived in the wet/moist sponge...

and if the sponge is allowed to continue wet/moist, it will get worse, spread to the stem and cause it to rot...

I have seen quite a few AG growers here on RIU loose plants cause they left the water pump on all the time...

Once the sponge dries, the fungus should die off and not be a problem...

But again... I need a pic to see if it is what I described... :eyesmoke:

Yeah I guess if its like straight-up fuzzy/furry then its probably mold. What I was seeing on mine was more like little white specks in the sponge. That AG pump most definitely causes problems if left on to long.

instead of the sponge i have used rockwool in my aerogarden i leave my AG pump on 24/7 and i do not have problems, i consstanlty check ph TO SEE IF rockwool alters PH...

RW will not alter pH..

But it will hold enough moisture to cause problems way faster than the ag sponge or plug combined...

I deal with lots and lots of clones in RW, so I am speaking from experience with the stuff...

But if you are having no troubles, then you are obviously doing it right...:clap:

Going from my experience...you need to cover up the holes where no light hits the medium,,which would be the AG sponges right? Ok well i done lost 2 crops due to this matter..it gets on the sponges and eats through the stalk..And it WILL happen.Just a matter of time.Cardboard will do..
Its a combination of light, nutes and WETNESS that affects the medium like that. You might wanna research CLONING!Cause you will have to clone if/when it eats through the stalk..It will lay them completely down man!Seriously do that fast!

thanks purp! it looks like it has itself under control now though... still a few a spots here and there, but overall not as bad. i think the leaves are filling out a "canopy" and shading it from the light.. also you told me to research cloning... all six of my girls in the AG are clones  (not to brag but 100% success rate first time out!!!:hump::hump::hump:)

12 days since first 3 rooted, and 6 days since the other half rooted. They have left over pistils from when they were cut. SADLY no new signs of sex yet... they went to 12/12 and transition nutes the second i saw strong roots. But given these are some serious sativa clones, they might veg a week or two under 12/12 before they flower.. We'll just have to ride it out and see what happens. Although i'm playing on cutting off the 50-50 Grow-Bloom transition nutes next res change, and doing full strength bloom, in hopes it encourages them to flower a little more.

HAHAHA oh yea forgot..man its hard trying to keep up with everyones grow,,but just make sure you keep a close eye on that and keep it under control..youll be just fine..But that stem rot can do the same to clones.HAH clone sum clones..will that work??..Ask FoxCompany bout the white fungus shit!
