cfl entertainment center turned grow box

I love how stealthy your setup is. I might have to do this kind of setup sooner than later since my GF is wining that she doesn't think her "friends wouldn't be comfortable coming over" if they ever found out I grew pot. I told her she is probably over-thinking again (she's more paranoid than I am, and I'm the stoner, lol). I think her friends are probably cool enough, that they would respect my privacy and the right to make my own choices, but a stealth box like yours could just put the whole debate even more "out of sight, out of mind." Well out of her mind anyways.

Keep in mind, plants will block airflow, so your cabnet will run a bit hotter than your test run, peace bra.
P.S, Hurry up a start veggin I want to see how this things works!

ya today i got 5 germinated seeds planted in soil. so far the hottest temps i got were around 80 and that was earlier when it was like 76 outside. this is with 5 plants in there with pots and dirt.

I hope you get at least 3 females, You're box looks pretty ideal for 4 or so females. Or are you one of those people who flowers one female, taking an eternity bending and vegging their plant, but then supercrops the thing for like 3 oz's in the end. If you did want 4 females you should plant at least 7 seeds. Some could die, or you just happen to get lots of males.

Although when I flower a bag of 10 seeds I usually get around 7 females, so it's likely you'll get more females than male. If you get mostly males you know you probably messed up.

well as far as my technique. i never have done any pruning or training but i am definatly gunna try it with at least one. right now im just seeing what i can produce with the box. i started 5 plants so hopefully at least 2 females. also i know a medical grower who is going to be getting me some clones of his white widow, og kush and super skunk.

To me topping seems easier and gives good results. Although I know topping stresses the plant more bending would too. I want to try bending, maybe I will on my next grow.
Also FIM technique. I dont understand FIM whatsoever, if someone knows a link that really shows just where to make the cut for FIM technique, that would be rad.

hell ya. i have never even heard of FIM technique. also, how old do the pants have to be to top them. i know how to actually make the cut just dont know when the right time is.

so i did some research on topping. i guess its optimal to wait until there are about 5 nodes on the plant. if you cut at the 1st node or 2nd node you will get 2 tops, if you cut at the 3 you will get 4. this is because of the way the hormones are redirected after you top the plant. also when you top your plant you can turn those cuttings into clones.

most people top between the 4th and 6th nodes...i topped mine at the fifth, i think:joint:, and i have two nice big colas growing:weed:

nice article of fimming, i still dont understand the difference, is it just topping later on with the 5th and 6th nodes?

Thanks mmccrory, nice link. I also found something, this is great because this one single picture breaks the whole thing down and shows you exactly what your cut is doing and, and exactly where you want to make this cut. This picture is invaluable in understanding FIM (fuck I missed).

I just bought some F'n Blue. FYI, this is Fucking Incredible, crossed with Blueberry. I mixture of one very established strain with great taste, (blueberry). And the new kid, whose turning all kinds of heads (Fucking Incredible), Vancouver Island Seeds. F'n Incredible coasts $140 for just 10 seeds so I was happy to pick up the Blueberry cross for only $85. I want to try fIMing for the first time using this strain.

Sorry, Normally I don't say "Fuck or Fucking" so much, but when talking about FIM, and Vancouver Island seeds, it's impossible not to. Thank you for your understanding, lol.

nice pics. it is much more clear now. but anyway. its almost week 2 since the sprouts popped above soil. i will be posting pics soon, withing the next couple days. some of them show signs of heat stress. since my lights are immovable i had to raise my plants closer to the lights while they are this small. with the extra stuff in there to raise them up it causes the temps to get a few degrees higher than without. about 3-4 degrees hotter. it is still not bad. max temps reach around 82 or 83. i will be going next week to buy my flowering cfl's along with some nutes. i currently have some organic fish emulsion that i have used just once a few days ago. with that i have noticed some improvement. the emulsion is a 2-4-0 mix. my soil ph is around 6.8. i have noticed faster growth, true leaves are forming and ready to pop. also a better color, overall just made my seedlings look much healthier. i was wondering what should i look for when it comes to flowering nutes? there is a hydropic store nearby so foxfarm and other name brands are availible. i am trying to grow organic if i can but if not. it happens. also should i buy a micronutrient? is it worth it? also the stems on my baby seedlings have a hint of purple and i dont know if its just the bagseed strain that im growing or a problem. overall they look healthy tho. pics very soon. stay tuned.

Purple stems are natural.
It takes a lot of work to setup a grow room, mine as well give the plant everything it could possibly need. But it's not like I noticed my bud size double since I've started using Massive micronutrients. If you're not totally broke-ass like it seems some people are on here, I would invest in some micronutrients, why not?

Sorry, i meant to say haven't notice a huge difference using Massie micronutrients. ...yet.

My current grow is my first time using a liquid hydroponic micro-nutes. Just in the last couple weeks, now in the 4th week of flowering, I'm noticing the plants with ample light are producing extra bud sites, or "new growth" cites which I was not achieving with just Bat guano and molasses. Massive micronutrients is advertised for creating these extra grow cites during the first 4 weeks of flowering, and it appears to be working.

Although I was very impressed even when I just used (0-9-0) bat guano and molasses, I was still able to get 14 grams from 12'' tall plants. Check out these plants from that grow.

So I got my flowering lights today. I have them installed but there is still more work to do before I am done. I have 6 42 wat, 2800 lumen 2700k cfls in the flowering chamber along with a 6500k 42 watt cfl. I still need to install and wire my intake fans. I might have a heat issue so we will see. If I do I was wondering do 23 watt cfls put out much less heat? Also I got some general hydroponics micro, veg, and bloom liquid ferts. My Babies in the veg chamber are looking great. I am down to four cuz I killed one that was growing super slow and looked pretty sick. Ph was fine, in the dirt and the water, and wasn't fertalized. I think it was just bad genetics. I will be posting more pics in the next couple days of my completed growbox along with updated pics on the new growth. Starting the third or fourth node!!!
