First grow (Attic). Looking for some feed back.

Set up:-
400w MH.
4" In-line TD Extractor fan.
12" Parabolic fan.
Mylar surround.
10 seedlings (Big Bang). 19 days since germination.

I started off germination by using the paper towel method. It took 2 days for 9 of the 10 seeds to come through.

Once cracked I planted in coco. Took 2 days to come through coco, then onto windowsill for 1 day to get used to light.

Set up Mylar, 4 36w Fluorescent tubes and fan. Placed pots beneath tubes 24/7 for about 2 weeks.

After 2 weeks repotted into larger pots, fitted MH, and gave first feed at half strength. Changed lights to 18/6.

Being an attic, plus the frigging heatwave we currently have over here (U.K), I've had a problem with the heat since day 1.

At first I thought that I had nowhere to extract the heat to, but yesterday I noticed a hole in the wall behind my set-up. So now heat is being extracted into wall cavity. Despite this, heat is only down about 5 degrees.
About 90 during light and 80 during dark.

Try Loading one pic at a time. With that heat your not going to get a good grow. It will be very slow at best. Get creative and work on your heat issue.

Most attics have ventings at the peaks of the roof ends.Maybe you could put a couple of fans to expell extra heat....Just a thought.

yup! ive heard 70-75 at night around 80 with the lights on. if you have a ridge vent in your attic, pump your heat and odor out there, the wall may be filled up to the point where the heat spills back in. also dont know where you are but you dont want to have one wall glowing its ass off on an infra red cam! good luck with the heat problem and keep growin!!

I'm waiting for my brother to fit a roof vent. Hopefully my 4" fan will be powerful enough to actually make a difference. But it seems to venting into the wall pretty good, so I cant see the roof vent being much better.

Big Bang. Pack of 10 fem seeds from http://sensibleseeds.com/products.php?cat=seeds&subcat=Greenhouse-(10pk-fem)

9 of the 10 germed in 2 days, the other 1 took a bit longer, but it did come through in the end.

They also sent me a pack 0f 10 Afghani special seeds. I germed 5, 4 came through last one was a dud. Planted the 4 in a large pot in the garden. 1 plant lost its head some how. Some kind of insect I suppose.
I just hope that at least 1 of the remaining 3 is a female. It will have a few months to veg before flowering in early September.

Any small difference you can make, makes a big difference tot he ladies.
Start giving 1/4 nutes per gallon. The Cotyldon (the fake leafs) leafs are turning yellow. :weed:

big bang huh? AND some afgani? sounds sweet! im gonna order 2 kinds also, one is Barny's Farm LSD feminized, and the other is TGAs Jack The Ripper F1 x SpaceQueen. ive never ordered seeds before and im a little lets say, apprehensive about it! if you got any advice id apreciate it!

It isnt from nute burn. They were like that before I even fed them nutes. I think it's either from heat stress or nitrogen deficiency. Either way, they are looking a lot better now that I have fed them nutes.

It only has a N of 4. Isnt that a bit low?

My only tip would be to shop around. There are hundreds of sites that sell seeds these days, and the prices can vary a lot. And make sure you know whether the seeds you are ordering are feminised or mixed.

Nothing to be apprehensive about. These sites are businesses, and it won't do their reputation any good if they mess you around.
In the UK it is perfectly legal to order seeds and the equipment used to grow. I don't know about where you live though.

It really depends on how you train them. But I would have the small ones on one side (400) and the larger ones under the 600.
I use Amino Aid, it is only 5. Look at my pictures under sig and see my veg products.

So far they're all pretty much the same size(besides 1. I think it might be herming). I was going to put 4 plants under the 400 and 6 plants under the 600.

Aren't your plants a bit small considering how old they are, or have you trained them that way?

I fim them at 6" then I had to top 2 of them. I prefer many tops to one main cola. 2 of them are going into flower (Kush/Skunk, they are almost 18 ") around the 15th July. Under a 600hps. The rest need to get up to 18"

When I checked my plants today, 4 of them had some brown spots on them. After checking the search function they appear to either be suffering from nute burn or boron deficiency. Either way, I've just given them a good flush with 3 pints each. Hopefully they will pull through.

Tomorrow I will pick up some Epsom salts. Is there more than 1 kind of Epsom salt?

there might b dif brands that make epsom

from my experence, and by that i mean that i will not go into my attic in the summer, it is WAY to freakin hot in an attic to grow weed up there unless you get an ac or something runing up there but thats just more electricity. i think your 400 w will do you fine untill the plants get bigger if you want to save your mone for a bit

o also in your first batch of pics i saw one that looks a little mutated

i wouldnt have used nutes so early
