birds ate most of plant...can it reveg?

I'm sick of these goddamn birds eating and destroying everything in
my garden.

I had a little lady outside that was growing very nicely.
I went to water about a week ago and noticed the birds ate

the first half of the plant, I guess they topped it for me. So i didn't
mind, but then about 2 days ago, I go back and the rest of the

plant is gone. the only thing that is left is a TINY nub sticking out the
ground.

Just wondering if it can reveg since the roots and a bit of the main
stem are still in-tact.

Anyone know how to kill a flock of birds that roll about 25 deep?

Too bad rice won't work on those fuckers, or I'd definitely kill
them all with it and feed 'em to my husky.

if there is a little leaf left it might reveg but if its only a stem i am afraid you are out of luck. what kind of birds are they? it will help to determine how to get rid of them.

I'm absolutely positive its birds.


I frequently go check on my garden thru-out the day
and about once a day I see a whole flock (about 25 +,-)

of them in my garden trying to get my veggies. So far they've gotten
to some of my onions, they've completely eaten both my only 2
peanut bushes, the weed plant, they just ripped a leaf off
of my eggplant today, they're picking at my zucchini, tore off the
tops of 3 corn plants (when they were younger), and they ate
A WHOLE fucking row of my great northern beans. Those beans
were flowering too, and that pissed me off.

I know its not critters because my garden is fenced in, in
5ft tall rabbit fencing. and I have chicken wire around the whole
thing so no little animals can dig under. plus I have 6 ft logs
on top of the chicken wire so the wire isn't going anywhere.

The plant did have two TINY leaves coming out, but I accidentally
killed them.

After I watered this morning mud got on them, I was scraping the
surface of soil around the plant and the leaves came off with the dirt.

yes. i see them doing it. no critters out where i am unless its bunnies.
and there's no way they can get into the garden..


i seriously doubt the lizards are eating my veggies. those
are the only other critters around these areas.

they'll eat them. I seen seagulls eat them and shortly after that they fall to the ground and do a death dance. have you thought about netting the top of your garden?

Yea, thats a sparrow. While I have seen them flock in great numbers, Ive never seen them eat veggies. But if youve seen them, I belive you.

One thing that I know works well for sparrows is an owl decoy.

to pick them off one by one.

don't really wanna go thru the hassle of netting ya know? plus I would

that live around my house and 4 other houses.

One flock is about 25 (+,-) these are the ones I saw in my garden.
The other is huge. I'd say about 40 of them.
They sit in our trees and shit on our cars. lol. My gpa doesn't even
park in the shade anymore because he got sick of cleaning bird
shit off the car everyday.

And I was actually thinking about an owl decoy. How much do they
cost?

the owl decoy will work for a while. I still like the alka-selzer. lace it with some jelly/ketchup and they'll snatch it right up and bye- bye birdie.

I think I will go for ketchup on the seltzer.
Birds are attracted to tomatoes, which are red,
so I figure ketchup will do just fine.

Dont shoot buckshot at birds, its for deer and you will have poor results.

I don't think the birds are eating your plant as they lack the ability to chew the leaves..
I think they are stealing parts of your plant to make their nests
