Pappy's Carolina Grow

Good afternoon everyone, been reading these forums for over a year and the wealth of info has been nothing short of amazing. Last year was my 1st outdoor attempt and after learning many lessons along the way I enjoyed months of my own hard labor. We have a garden in the yard and while the soil is quite sandy our efforts to compost and amend the soil make it a bit better. however i have not tested soil PH or the well water. I have a few questions and any help or tips would be appreciated.
This year i started early, seeds in march, xfered outside in April. from the starting 35 seedlings, 16 remain. I let the 3 choicest males live long enough to get some pollen =) Then i went on a 3 week trip to NY. In my absence they received solid rain every other day, but no nutes.

Upon my return I found stretched, yellow, sickly looking ladies. Major fan leaves had yellowd n dropped or would do so soon. the soil was dry 4 inches down.

I quickly mixed a batch og MG bloom booster and gave each girl a heavy soak. the new growth is dark green now but I have also noticed a white, spider-webish substance of a few branches. Is it insect webbing or a mold? how can i prevent further leave die-off and help bud growth from here on out..
Also should i trim off the underveloped lower offshoots? doesnt seem like they will ever get the sunlight they need.

your comments, questions, ect will be greatly appreciated.

the white stuff looks more like a mold to me than anything, look in the plant problem forums for answers as to rid yourself of that awful mold, also it just looks like they are a little nute deprived, again just look in the plant problem forum to diagnose and fix the problem...

p.s. - i am posting up a storm

yeah from the other forums ive gathered the "use a fungicide" for the mold. I was afraid of over-fert and since i dont know the soil chemisty i was leary of leeching and starting nutes again after a week.
