As you may already know I use these fans here http://www.hvacquick.com/spfnconfig.php?fm=td I'm super happy with the 2 I have. The whole thing is made of some sort of durable plastic and the only noise I get is from the air blowing out of the cab which doesn't bother me since my cab is "semi-stealth". The fan themselves don't make any noise when turned on and left out in the open. If wind noise is a concern I'm sure there is an easy muffling fix. I can't comment on any other fans as I have never used them but like I said, these here a pretty quiet. Gypsy is right get a bigger one and hook it up to the controller and control the speed to your needs. And a good morning to you to.

i was looking into some inline fans, one sucking air across a cool tube, then out through duct work, and then another inline fan as an exhaust

Props on the AG grow shack. I have one I am using to try clones right now.

So you guys think dont let the tip of the stem hang in the water? I was copying what a lot of those bubble cloners look like, but if ur having success with them all the way in the AG pod, maybe I will pull them up.

Also, I believe your clones are taking forever to sex because they were taken during flower. I am told that when taken during flower they may take longer to root, and longer to turn to flower like ur experiencing.

I am a noob tho so dont take anything as Gospel.

I appreciate what ur doing and you are teaching me as you go, so...Thanks!

in line as in duct?

the cheapo AXIAL fans frm HD?

i tried it in my tent... not enough umph...

opted for a new more efficient grow cabinet, to maximize the efficiency of the AG hood lights as well as my additional custom hood light. Photo update of the cabinet within the hour..

:weed:The Shack built an indoor grow shack!:weed:

Picked up a white cabinet from a local retailer, and lined the interior with automotive sunshade material. The following is a brief pictorial...

Not quite as stealth as I would like.. yet! Just need to add a few pieces stripping to really block out the light mainly across the top and bottom of the doors.

Quick view looking from the back.. before the back was the back.. got it??
the door on the right has a slightly extended flap to block light between the doors

Here it is! The inside of the shack.. as you can see its fairly snug fit, which is design in action.
it maximizes the efficiency of the 3 CFL's by giving them less area to bleed and dissipate.
instead its reflected as close to directly back as possible.. bongsmilie

power strip mounted inside the cabinet.. with wires organized

the air pumps little spot..

the only thing different from what you see here is the fan has been placed atop the hood blowing upwards. it pulls air up from under the hood and causes a breeze across the plants. also creates a little fresh air suction via the power outlet cutout.

words and thoughts?!

 damn you put me to shame... I dig it bro.
That may very well be true  BUT! you have a larger cab, better light and therefore probably produce more... now that its all done looks just like any of those online "stealth" retail cabinets.

that was gypsy's take on cloning in the AG, and have to say it was a good one
half rooted in 7 days, all rooted 10-12, no complaints!

my suspicion as well... (props for reading far back enough to know when i cut!!) they're on full bloom nutrients and 12/12 light, lets hope that gives them a good enough hint!

we're all noobs!!! haha sort of, 1,000's of methods, techniques, tricks... etc and more to come... with as much as there is to know about growing, no one is truly not a noob (especially me! i haven't even harvest a bud yet!! :weed:)

glad to know my thread was helpful to you! good day and welcome to RIU!!!

So i cut a whole in the top, and mounted the little cage fan you saw, took it apart and stuffed Arm&Hammer carbon filters behind the fan.
the filters are made for home air purifiers.. look around you'll find some, i had mine lying around, but purchased from target.
its not the purifier filter itself, its a pre-filter sheet.

anyhow! what a difference it made doing this, dropped the temp from 85 to 72-74 in about 5 minutes!!!!:hump::hump:

take a pic later maybe!

yeah i mentioned that somewhere... no picture yet, but the fan pictured in the cab... well i cut a hole in the top of the cab jammed the little cage fan in there, and it sucks the hot out nicely... set it on a timer to start 30 minutes before lights on, and stay on for the same after lights out. during the light cycle dropped the temp down a good bit, fluctuated for awhile, but averaged around 77.

overall VERY happy with it. i love CFL and have become open to a possible 150W CFL hood-like device hanging in this small space. given the compact size, the reflectivity of the interior and with enough proper training, it should prove to be a VERY efficient cab. i'm more than hopeful!

you could get this for $183.95...

$235 with a real cool tube...:lol::clap:

http://htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=54182

This HPS/MH magnetic set up is only $167...

http://htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=48631

and the HPS only is even cheaper...$117.95

http://htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=47994

and you can go even cheaper with a bit of DIY...

Just the ballast is $51.95

http://htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=45719

Why go cfl and get less bud per watt?

when you can get a HPS cheaper? :eyesmoke:

get a good fan filter combo and you will be golden...

I vote for the first one... the digi 250w with a cool tube...

But that's just me...:hump:

space my dear gypsy.. SPACE! the cab is roughly 11 1/2" deep and 23" long... have to keep things compact, and with little space, i think even a 150 HID would raise the temps.. given the space available after the reflector and ballast, don't think i'd even be able to duct the air properly
