Go with what you know bro...space my dear gypsy.. SPACE! the cab is roughly 11 1/2" deep and 23" long... have to keep things compact, and with little space, i think even a 150 HID would raise the temps.. given the space available after the reflector and ballast, don't think i'd even be able to duct the air properly
I am just trying to help you...
it's your money... and your grow..
but I will tell you this... heat builds...
If you do not have adequate ventilation, it;s gonna get hot... with an HPS a CFL or an LED... the heat must be ADEQUATELY vented...
the way heat builds in enclosed spaces , it does not matter the source or the temperature... the heat will BUILD..
that means that it will get hotter and hotter... hotter than the original heat source.. it becomes greater.. it builds up...
if you have enough airflow for that 125w cfl (they get hot as shit by the way...) you have enough for that 250...
if you don't vent right.. the 250 will cause the cab to get hot fast...
but believe me.. the cfl will catch up to it..
either you have adequate ventilation or it's gonna get hot...
if you want to save a buck and do it right... listen to me... don't hurry things...
but if you don't... for whatever reason... that's ok...
I'll still be here ... but do not get mad if I get to say I told you so...
