i have grown plenty of plants in MG, but its just not the best soil to use. i have only grown bagseed in it.
i now use sunshine mix and store bought genetics. some of your store bought seeds are very sensitive to nutes and they may not survive past the seedling stage in MG.

man really MG is just high in nutreints. so sometimes it will just kill ur plant, sometimes it wont, i think the MG organic is good to use. and to flush it before you use it.

I don't mess with the cheaper soils anymore. Maybe the organic mg soil may work but I don't know. When I look at the cheaper potting soil compared to my foxfarm it's like night and day. You could try it for your first grow but I reccomend if you want a good yeild at the end to not use it.

i used MG and my plants are doing just fine
For my first grow, I can't complain about my results using miracle gro. However, knowing what I know now, I won't use it again. But it's one of many popular commercial fertilizers out there that works. There's a reason why so many folks buy it. (I believe that's similar to a quote made by UncleBen from this site - I can't take credit for it).
