Male Pre-Flower?

Thanks everyone for the advice. I actually have two that look like the pic and two that have not shown pre-flowers yet. I am going to put the two that appear to be males outside and let nature start the flowering process. This way i can still harvest some pollen from the males without having to worry about fertilizing my others if they turn out to be females.

I want to get a few seeds, so i'm going to use the paintbrush method to fertilize one branch on any potential remaining females.

Again thanks for the advice

This pic should get put on the grow FAQ, it is one of the best and clearest male plant pics I have seen, sorry for the male but thats a really nice and well detailed pic.

I'm convinced that both mine are male and i placed them outside. I'm going to let the pollen develop and harvest some to fertilize a branch on a remaining female. But nonetheless it was disappointing as the two males were the largest and best looking of all.

The only positive, is the pollen i will get and i will use the rest of the plant to make hash via the butane method.

Good Luck

i totally hear you there, they were my healthiest looking plants, too...

i thought making hash from male plants was a myth? if it works, i could probably make quite a bit...

From everything i've read, male plants do contain THC its just in small amounts, the THC to plant material ratio is really low but butane will extract any available THC and concentrate it into "honey oil".

I figure if i use the leaves and stems of two plants i should be able to obtain at least a little THC. I figure any amount no matter how small is better than just trashing them without any gain. There is a how to somewhere on this forum, for the butane extraction method.

But like i said i'm going to harvest pollen from them so i'm going to leave them outside for a month or until the pollen sacs open up.

And that is always my theory,8 times out 10 the males grow bigger and stronger and have fatter stems much more quickly than the females(all though this is not always true),any plant showing this trait usually gets put to the worst lit position on my table for 2 reasons.

1.To slow it down
2.To give maximum light to the plants that are most likely to be females.

I never kill males,i just leave them in with the rest until i see its balls begin to drop and swell then cut them of at the bottom of the stem and put them in a jug of water to mature and drop their pollen onto a plate way away from the females in a windless area then paint or bag the cola i am going to use:blsmoke:

dude.. the time between starting the 12/12 light cycle and finding out the sex of your plants is HARSH... Day 4 of flowering, and I report... it sucks. I can't keep waiting!!!
Tell me bout it bro, 2 weeks flowering tomorow and i searched that plant high and low but still waiting for 'her' to show. First grow and 1 plant so its all or nothing over here :weed:
