All I can say is, don't go hungry for your ideals. My best friend is without a job and refused to apply at a pet store because of puppy mills. It's great that she wants to stand for something, but we don't live in a time where we can afford to refuse any job. I understand your position, I felt like that very much when I was younger, but I don't have a lot of options and right now, it's starting to look like either join the military or get an illegitimate job that doesn't have benefits, job security or retirement options. Since I've been nearly homeless and have also been a squatter (lived in a foreclosing house, praying the bank would be kind), I'm going to choose what benefits me, going against what I truly believe. I understand the need for the miltary and respect our soldiers greatly, but I'm a passificist. Or, at least I was. Now I get to learn how to shoot. :D

Everyone has beliefs, but most of the time, you can't change the world, or much of anything. I've signed my fair share of petitions and will continue to do so, but I also know that mostly it's futile. You could say I've given up on people, I guess, but I call it growing up. Believe in what you think is right, but don't shape your life around fighting the government.

I was almost homeless too about 2 weeks ago.
Gotta work thru it tho.

My cousin is in the Airforce, she's a "marksmen" now. lol.

Best of luck to you hope you make it back with all limbs just remember if you loose your legs they still wont let you smoke.Ive always wondered what uranium smelled and tastes like let me know. Remember what they are doing not only to the countrys they are sending you to invade but to you as a soldier ive got friends who did their 4 years and dont get shit they where promised vietnam vets arnt on the street homeless in wheelchairs because they care about YOU the soldier. I wonder if everyone in germany just LOVED their nazi soldiers. Go buy a puppy it will LOVE you more then your country.

Thats what I'm talking about rossy. Your out for dead presidents to represent you (money). Fuck all that "well you know those guys eat babies". Hell If it makes money and I'm about to be homeless Ill eat a baby to. Point is you got to be on your grind. If I ever go broke and my parents go broke and I have a kid you better believe that boy is going to hustle those bricks for me. True story,1 love :peace:

I am a Nam era vet myself. I fine nothing in Amerika worth going in the Marines for today. All we do is bully others and get parts blown off. I see Vets daily at the VA hospital wishing they had thought of something else to do. Good luck and may you find what you quest but do not be surprised if you are bitter after the experience. I joined in 71 so I could be free. I am now past 60 and have been a criminal for smoking weed for the past 40 + years. Freedoms shrinking daily and still they want young bodies for cannon fodder. The net result of my defending our country is currently waiting sentencing for growing weed for my wifes Chemo treatments for cancer. Fuck the military

OORAH! Best decision you've made! I didn't smoke for 5 years while in the Marines. Not worth a dishonorable discharge. I drank like a fish though. I look back on those years as some of the best of my life. The people you meet and places you see are spectacular. The good far outweighs the bad. And don't worry, weed will still be around when you get out.

At least they protect our freedom to do as we please. America is the land of the free. If you don't love her, leave her. Sure in essence our country is a loosely organized lying,cheating, and stealing whore. But we could be a lot worse... And for that I'd be glad serve 5 years in the core.
