need help, any hope for my outdoor grow op?

alright, i'm going to start this one off by saying "this is my first attempt at growing" with that said, this is my current situation. in early june i finally put a bag of seeds i'd had sitting around for a long ass time (probably a year and a half) to some good use by putting them in the ground somewhere in vt. there were at least 80 seeds that had just come out of buds that i'd smoked over the years, i legit basically just put them in the ground, obsessively went back there a few times a day to water the seeds for a few days, and then stopped for about 3 weeks because i don't live there and came back and absolutely nothing had happened. there had been torrential downpours for legitimately a month i figured that would have helped them progress more.

on my second trip back, I had 42 seeds in tow, 10 feminised swiss cheese seeds that i'd gotten from nirvana, and 30 "happy outdoor seeds" from the very seemingly questionable (according to this board anyways) amsterdam marijuana seeds, and 2 other seeds that i had luckily gotten out of recent batches of bud i'd been buying. I scattered them around the area where i've planted the seeds, which is a very fertile area next to a river, and i only had a couple days to water them while in the soil, i ripped some good looking strong (non-weed) plants out of the ground and planted some seeds in where they used to be due to me assuming they must have a good root system if these random ass plants are growing so strongly out of there.

my question is, can I count on nature to run its course to get the seeds to sprout to start growing, due to me being able to go check on them once a week or every other week or is my outdoor grow op for '09 as i know it, completely fucked?

you do not have time left in the season to grow plants outdoors i dont think. you may have to take them inside and flower them in October-November

anyone have any idea? anyone put their seeds in the ground recently?
I agree with Kaleo...too late to be just starting. Should have done a little research before purchasing those seeds. I think you made wise purchases, but at an unwise time. Marijuana will begin to flower around the second week in August. Figure July is already half spent, you'd only get a good solid 4 weeks of veg growth. Try something like an Autoflowering strain. I just planted those a week + ago...but they're different. Autos really dont have a veg cycle, then switches right to bloom. Seed to Harvest +/- 8-10 weeks. Makes for a late planter's crop!

I'd always try to germinate them first. better chance of coming up that way, but like was said, too late in the season I'm afraid

Most of the fresh tender sprouts are just gobbled up by the bunnies and bugs. Next time start them earlier and set them out after they are at least 6" tall or taller. It's a shame you didn't save those seeds for next year. But if some do survive the slugs and rabbits you might get a few small buds by frost. Good luck and don't ever give up!

You will get a harvest...no worries. They just won't be big because of the late start. Weed is exactly that....a weed. It will survive...it will bud. Now it may not be all that it could be, but next year you will take the lessons learned and do better...

I agree with CrackerJax on this one. If they sprout they'll still get enough light to veg for 3-6weeks and than from there your plants will flower. Probably not a whole lot though, maybe a few grams a plant. GL, dude.

thank you my fellow burners, your insight is greatly appreciated, next year is hopefully going to be a 'big' year once i learn from mistakes of this year. I'll keep you posted to what (if anything) I get out of these seeds, again big ups, stay growing, stay lifted.
