i have a friend who believes we CAN'T escape earths gravity.
though isn't the moon within earths gravity?
the moon cant escap either but i have a few things to concider

footage is really dodgy if real, could be 60s cameras, could be bogus. already metioned

we haven't been back. also, already mentioned butt... imagine landing on something small(er than earth) thats spining and rotating around the earth. it sounds damn hard but just imagine doing it in primitive space crafts from like 40 years ago.

also i just plain dont trust the shady government (we still might have) enough to belive we wenth there in 1969

BUT my goal is to go into space in my life time and swim through the air weightless. sadly i dont have like 2.5 mil(bil?) or whatever to pay my way on to a space shuttle. im just skeptic about the moon landing footage

Yes it happened, the evidence is overwhelming. And despite what a few people have said, we have had 6 successful manned moon landings, and a total of 12 people have walked on the moon. Granted we haven't been back since 72, but what would be the point?

Would it help any of you doubters to know that I have PERSONALLY watched a Saturn V rocket lift off the launch pad? It was the big one....Apollo 11.

I believe we made it there. My mate thinks that we didnt though, and that we cant. He believes NASA is just a front, and that it is just a way of the government hiding money from the tax payers without them asking squat.
Think about their budget, then times that by like 40yrs...

Well that was a heck of a simulation they pulled off on me back in '69.

Maybe it was a big Estes rocket, just Balsam and D rocket engines?

i saw the last Titan launch a few years ago. it was one if the biggest rockets they use. i think they sent up satellites with it. we were 2 miles away in the "safety zone" and the ground shook.

I watched an episode of mythbusters last night that was trying to see if they really did land on the moon. They went through all the reasons that conspiracy theorists have come up with, including the "wind" shaking the flag and proved every single one wrong. There was also the myth you cant leave footprints, the one of buzz aldrin standing in a shadow but lit up.. bunch more.

Yes, it was sort of funny to hear the conspiracy spun in front of me live. It's amazing to me that such a view can take hold.

Hey, aren't those launches great? I get to watch the shuttles go off, and happened to be in Cocoa for the first night launch ever...it was amazing. Working for my fathers company put me in Cocoa during my college summers and working on both Patrick AFB and Cape C. the rockets got to be ridiculous. It seemed like just every week or two, somebody was shooting something off.

I didn't see the launch last week because of cloud cover, but I do get to hear that double sonic boom every time she lands... no matter the weather.

Hey, next launch get in front of a really nice HD TV and watch the NASA channel. In high definition and with a bassy sound system...it's pretty close to the real thing!
