I am not new to growing by any means. The thing is I have always grown in soil. I recently started using aeroponics. I am having problems already. First problem was over feeding. I had my ppm at 800 then I made it 1000. Then my plants started yellowing and drying out. I flushed and ran ph balanced 6.0 distilled water with ppm around 0-50 for two days and they started growing again.

My plants are about 8" tall or so and have a decent amount of leaves. My ppm was changed to around 300 after flush and now some are growing twisted like, yellowing, and growing really slow. I was keeping my PH at 6.0 but I have done a lot of studying and figured around 5.5 or even 5.2 is better?

My problem originaly was over feeding, then I thought it was underfeeding so I raised it from the 300 to 450 and now I think 450 is too much . . . .

My question is what should my ppm be at right now? What is the perfect ph?

hey bro, having similiar issues myself, i figure that you need to double the ppm number you are reading in your res because you are using aero, i figure at least double the number if not triple to be safe, that may give you a better idea of what your feeding to your plants.

BAD!! bad newby,,,, bad
bad advice is worse than no advice. the nutes are alil low but noway he needs to triple it. the low nutes are not his prob. sure the plants wont grow as fast with 300 PPMs as they will with 600, but his plants are stressed. stressing them more will not help anything.

IMHO the perfect ph is 5.8.
and do what the plants tell you. if they are light green feed alil more, if they are a really dark green back off on the nutes. every strain like a different amount of nutes. the thing with hydro to keep in mind is always take baby steps. slowly raise your PPMs,,, like say 75 PPMs a day untill you get that really dark green color. then back down 100 and you should be cool for a while. in a week or so when you change your res water bring the PPM back to what it was before you changed the water and then start to raise it 75PPMs a day again untill your plants go ultra green again, then back it back down 100PPMs. do that every time you change your res. and your plants will stay happy. once you get a feel for the system and learn what warning signs to watch for you can get bolder with your adjustment, but doing what i said will keep your plants happy untill then.

All of this hinders on what kind of nutes he's using. For all we know he's putting in some 50-50-50 shit.

Lol I hope its not like shultz or miracle grow nutes.Better be at least some Fox Farm or advance or GH nutes. Also hope they are not dry nutes as that would be bad. Aero keep it at 5.8 ph res water temp no more then 70 degrees F. I start my new clones with roots at 800 ppm and end up at the highest ppm of almost 1600 ppm.Make sure to use your nute makes feed schedule and it will tell you the exact ppm, ph, and ec at each week and light stage.
