One of my plant seems to be "stuck". It just will not grow any more. It is only in the beginning stages, it is about 2 inches tall, and it has been the same height for about a week now (im positive its the same height because when I stoop down and look at the pot I can see it just peeking over the top of it, and its been in the exact same place) while my other plant is growing like wildfire. There has been some leaf development but not much. pH is good, its getting LOTS of light (like I said the other one is growing at top speed), what could be wrong? Ive heard that females grow more slowly than males so my other plant may be a male but it literally hasnt grown at all for a solid week.

what type of soil/pots/lights are you using? If your plant is root -bound in a small pot it can cause the growth to be stunted, you can also stunt the plant by over/under-watering. What about your temps? Some strains thrive in warm climates while others need colder temps to survive. You also want light "airy" soil that retains alot of moisture. A hard compact soil will stunt the root growth.

If all your plants are treated the same, I would say you have a SLow PlAnT. No bigg, just don't clone that one.
To the first poster after me:
Soil: I am using sterile potting soil, the same exact soil as the other plant.
Lights: I am using 4 100w 5500k CFL's (one pointing at each plant, two in a modified light ficture with three sockets facing the plant), 1 125w 2700k CFL (in the middle of both plants), 1 50w 6500k CFL (in the third socket in the modified light fixture), and a 75w incandescent that I found in my mother's basement (she is passed and used to grow MJ) that says "Gro Light" on the front of it, pointing at the whole setup.
pots: The one that is growing like wildfire is actually in a SMALLER pot than the stunted one. The stunted one is in a 3 gallon pot. My temps are programmed to be 80*F at all times, and there are two fans (one to pump the air out into the dryer tube, one regular fan to keep the heat from the lights from harming my plants and to blow my plants around a bit to strengthen the stems). Im going to go take a few pics right now and post 'em.

Yes, some pics would be nice.. I've had that problem before though, if I didnt spend any money on the seed, Im not hesitant at all to rip it up if it has ceased to grow. That's just me though, I wanna see what your babe looks like..
Damn, i realized after my last post that my wife has the camera in her purse (we went to a party last night) so Ill have to wait until she comes home from work.
My baby isnt really anything impressive - Like I said it is only a week or two old and a few inches tall, id be curious on any tips youd have to offer on my setup though. I can already tell the fast-growing one is going to be big and give me some nice buds =) i just HOPE shes a female!!
Edit: Oh yeah, to someones previous suggestion that the soil is too tightly packed, you may have been right. I took the top layer of the soil off with the plant in it (so it wouldnt get traumatized) and fluffed up the dirt and found that it was quite heavily packed. This may have been the problem, we'll see.

Here are some pics. I had to turn the light sensitivity on the camera way down or else you couldnt see anything, just bright light, so it looks like its not too well lit (but it is). There are 4 100w 5500k CFLs, 1 50w 2700k CFL, 1 150w 2700k CFL, and a 75w incandescent "gro light". The first picture is the "stuck" plant, the second is the one that is growing fast, and the plastic cups contain sprouts that I just planted today so they are not yet above the soil. Out of view of all the pictures is a box fan to cool the lights and to blow the plants a bit so they get stronger stems, and also a tube connected to a strong air pump to pump air out of the laundry tube (hopefully pulling in fresh air from elsewhere). Anyone with any tip on rearranging the lights or anything else, I would appreciate it.

IMHO, I would put away the 5600K lights for a week; 2700K and 3000K for the first 2 or 3 weeks of the plant's life... These plants like like a week old and are still using the cotyledons for food mostly... Try not to use too much water, starve them a little because they mainly feed on those first 2 leaves. I'm not not saing to parch them, simple wait for the right moment when all the water is about to evaporate from the soil. Good luck.
In every tutorial i've ever read 5500-6500k lighting was used for vegging and 2700-3000k was used for flowering. Thanks for the tip on watering. What does everyone else think about the lights?

Damn, the first one has another set of leaves, 15 more have sprouted, and this goddamn plant is just chilling right at first leaf development stage. If it were dying it wouldnt be so strange, but it looks perfectly healthy. Like I said, ph is good (6.5-7 on all of them, i try to stay closer to 6.5), and I water all my plants the same so I dont think its watering. Hmpf.
