What will make leaves curl up or droop other than heat?

Anything for the curling part? Some of the plants are curling up on the edges only top leaves, i think they are to close to the bulbs so moved em a few inches, im doing CFL btw. On one plant the leaves are drooping on one side, not all of them maybe 3 on the whole plant.

Thanks guys.

I hope they show sex soon so i can get rid of any males i have then its more light for teh femalez

over watering ur ph level man really any stress will cause them to droop and if u water too much u can get root rot n that will make em droop as well

curling up around the edges is called cupping - that's an indication of too high a heat - leaf literally begins to cook

yeah i kinda figured, 80-85 is to high? Or could it be just because the light it to close and its hotter there.

Yeah, growone knows what's up.

If your leaves are cupping your CFL's are too close and cooking the plant. Try backing them off an inch or two, three might be too much. Also if you have good air circulation you can have your plants pretty much touching the bulb, my plants are right up within 1/4 inch of my lights and totally fine. But I have a fan constantly blowing right down the tubes.

It also depends on which kind of cfls your using. The 2700k bulbs fry plants if to close but the 6500k bulbs can sit on top of them. I cooked some leaves in my day but its all good cause the plant will use half of whatever is left to still grow.

measuring temp can be a bit tricky - a lot depends on your growing area
it's the temperature right at the leaf that is critical
my experience is 85 is about a warm as you would like - you might be able to get away with higher, but that is the start of the 'danger zone'

Yeah well the bulbs were almost touching when i woke up on 2 of em so that could be why. The musta shot up over night. The soil PH is 6 from my PH test strips, that the best thing I have to test with ATM.

I think I might water em a bit more they still see kinda dry

I moved em up 3-4 inches from the leaves to see if they get better now. If not then the ambient temp is too hot too.

This is true. My tubes are most definitely 6500k, and I wouldn't keep my 2700k CFL's anywhere near within 1/4 inch of the plant.

Good point Mysticlown. +rep

add baking soda? lulz i dunno what else to do really.

No money to buy a PH kit unless its like 3-4 bucks, I cant trust my strips 100% because its saying my distilled water is 5.5 ph .... id ont buy that
distilled is supposed to come in around 6.4(if memory serves)
i'd suspect your strips too
you can get the test drops for about $5, in the aquarium supplies, found them to be very accurate
