My plants won't bloom.

Heres a pic. They are white widow... vegged them for 4 weeks... now they are on day 9 of flower. Using 400w hps, 12/12 lighting, and tiger bloom/big bloom for nutes. They don't seem to want to bloom. I was able to determine sex on all of them after only 5 or 6 days... but all I have is a few tiny hairs scattered randomly on the plants.. I don't think I have a light leak, I'm thinking maybe it's my PH...... I've never checked it, so I have no clue... what do you guys think?

Im on my first grow here. Im growing a WW cross. My plants only showed sex on the 4'th day of flowering. And about 1 week ni to flowering, they looked pretty much like yours.

As I said mi on my first grow, so I dont know much. ´But give it a few more days and see what happenes :D

Give 'em a bit more time. That said, is it in any way possible that you have light leaks during the dark cycle?

Hey Moby... thanks for the reply. This is my first grow also. I'm starting to get a little worried, because they are clearly still growing taller avery day, and i'm not seeing much flowering happening. I don't want em getting too tall! They are already two and a half feet tall. Anyone else have any input?


EDIT: I meant two feet tall.

you are aware that your plants will at least double in height during flowering right? your also aware that the first 12-14 days of flowering is the stretch phase where much vertical growth occurs and little actual flower formation happens, right?

you know all this, right?

and stop overwatering.

Yes I know they roughly double, and I have plenty of head room. When I started flower, they were 18".

I did not know about the 14 day stretch phase, but thank you for informing me, I'm not worried so much now.

Undercupping of the leaves means overwatering, ok i'll remember that. Its weird how when I watered yesterday, the plants loved it, they perked right up. So that's kinda strange.

sorry. my kid had me up alot last night and then up for real at 530 am. i have since then been to work for a bit and had breakfast. once again, sorry if i was short with you.

whats your soil like? if it isnt draining properly you could go from needing water to overwatered like you did. do you have any pearlite or vermiculite in your mix?

Could possibly be a P.h. problem. Do you have a meter than you can test the water before you feed them and then test the run off water after you feed them. Compare the two numbers and you will have a better idea if that infact is the problem. Try keeping your P.h. below 7.0 and above 6.0.

My soil is fox farm ocean forest mixed 50/50 with perlite. So, it is a very light & airy mix. I water them, then the next day I nute them, then water, then nute....... so they get the water everyday. Drainage is like whoa! I put too much perlite in there.


My main concern is the flowers... there's only a couple hairs on each plant, and most of these things arent even a quarter inch long yet. Is that normal for the ninth day of flower?

yeah. like i said, the first 10-14 days of flowering are the 'stretch' phase. not much actual bud formation takes place.

INRE flowers: Yeah dude, you'll be good...another couple of weeks and your plants will look totally different. The reason these guys are trying to help with any possible health issues, is that any stressed plant will take longer to grow and produce those nice juicy nugs. You have to understand the plant itself...if she's putting all her effort into producing more height, she won't be putting as much effort into her flowers. Once she's set on her verticle height, she'll really start pumping out the bud weight. Make sense?
