First Time Grower: TrainWreck. Tips, advice, stories..

After plenty of opinions & suggestions, I'm going with TrainWreck for my first grow, bought 5 feminized seeds this morning. Basically I'm looking for some tips, advice, or personal TrainWreck grow pics/stories. & My number one questions, with expense & time out of mind... GROW TENT OR GROW CLOSET w/ the TrainWreck?

Sounds like your on a good start, hear good things about FoxFarm Soil.
I'd say 400 would do, 600 would do even better.

I dont have enough experience on that one sir, I'm a new grower myself, lights I can tell ya more the better.
Are you going to grow all 5?
I never tried the tent, I use a bedroom for veg and a closet for flower.
I let my plants get med/full size before I flower so a tent would have been small for me.

Oh and GoldenGonja13 is full of good nfo, he helped me out lots, trust him for sure.

Go 600 so you dont kick yourself in the ass later. Tents look coool I was checking them out. Takes all the work out. Makes it easy.

It's ma'am ;) Haha. Anyways, I think I am growing all 5. & I think you're right about the tent being too small. But then again I lean toward the other side when I think about how much more convenient it is. Lol. Tough decisions.

Why not both?
Tent for veg, and closet for flower?
I've only got a single closet for veg and flower, and it's frustrating. It seems to take forEVER going through the flowering stage, and lately I find myself eyeballing other closets and what I can get rid of (junque) to free up another closet. Heck, I may just take over an entire bedroom eventually. Let the guests sleep on the back porch when they come over...LOL.

Edit: What I'm trying to say is that this hobby is addictive. Once you have your plants in flower, it's mostly a waiting game. I'm to the point where I feel like I need to have plants to fiddle with...clones, new seed strains to grow, etc., etc.

I got some train wreck seeds on the way. never grown them before but im looking forward to it. Im also going to use FF soil. I have a 400w hps im going to use if i can get an electrical problem fixed first. Best of luck

Good point. Both would be easier. I think I might go with that. My original plan was to turn our spare bedroom into a grow room but the gf won't have it.. she's worried about the electric bill, people coming over, the smell & all that. Hopefully one day I could change her mind. Maybe when she smokes some of that TrainWreck, it'll change her mind. Lol.

How many seeds are you growing? & How are you growing it? Closet, tent, room?

I built a box that I have in a spare bedroom. I got a 400w hps. Im going to get some FF soil. I dont know what kind of nutes im going to use, i might just use ph water.

LOL - well, yeah the electric bill goes up, but if you check around on lights and get the best bang for the buck (I like the 600W HPSs for flower and T5s for veg) with min. heat the "product" will pay for the light bill many times over. People coming over? No biggie if you are doing a closet grow (that is unless your guests have a habit of peeking into your closets). Smell? Get a carbon air filter system going, and you won't smell a thing. Our carbon AF duct is routed into the water heater closet (closest availb. vent thru the attic) which is then routed outside via a vent on the roof. The heat for the HPS light goes out there too (inline fan to keep closet cool). I've sniffed in and around the water heater closet, and that carbon filter does such a good job you can't smell a thing. Cheap DIY filter too...hubby made it from some old leggings of mine, carbon, and about $20. bucks in hardware items at the Homie D (Home Depot). I think the "Growroom and design" section of RIU has several great DIY filters you can look into. They DO work!

The only downside I can see to a whole room set up is being able to keep the "veg" lighting set up from affecting the "flower" lighting schedule on the other side of the room (IOW when they're in 12/12 you can't have any other light filtering in at ALL otherwise they revert back to veg.)

I think the best bet for me is going to be two separate closets...one for vegging, clones and seedlings, and the other for flowering.:hump:
