Anyone live in the city? (Any state)

Well, I'm wanting to move out of this shitbox of a state, so I am trying to get opinions and do some research on cities around America. If you do, or have spent any significant time in a city, a few questions...

1) What is a typical standard entry level office wage/salary for the area?

2) What universities are in the area?

3) What is the rent like for a typical, safe neighborhood, 1-2 bedroom apartment?

4) How are the neighborhoods?

i live in BCS, texas.
idk the typical office wage or salary. but i know alot of people here are looking for people

Texas A and M university is here in town

there are any type of apartments or homes

and the neighborhoods here are good no problems at all

I live in ny and you should move here. I use to live in queens but now I live upstate but when I finish school Ill be back in the city again. so ill answer questions based on what I know ( i live with my parents)

I got no idea maybe $20 an hour?
2) What universities are in the area?
They have plenty,long island university is big but expensive and a couple others.
3) What is the rent like for a typical, safe neighborhood, 1-2 bedroom apartment?
Only safe neighborhoods are in the italian neighborhoods or chinese or jewish (no disrespect to anyone). Will run you $1100 a month for a nice size 1 bedroom and 1400 for nice size 2 bedroom.
4) How are the neighborhoods?
Depends, My neighbors was always good to me in queens but maybe I was lucky? Everyone minds their own business though so dont think people will be shaking your hand when you move in.

Well, I'd like to stay north, I like the changing of the seasons. And I really haven't heard anything good about New York, is it really that bad? (Besides for the expensive areas of course) I mean, I don't think I would be able to afford to live there by any means

I mean some parts of brooklyn are good and you can get a $1000 apartment in the russian neighborhoods and they are cool peoples and are always friendly. I really wouldnt mess with the other neighborhoods lol unless you run with a tough crowd then your fine. I'm in upstate and its borrring. Have to drive to most places and right now i'd probably be hanging out on the beach if i was in the city oh well only 2 more years to go .
I think you could afford to live here, its just a tough city but after you get through the toughness you reap the rewards man. its a car show up here to everyday

Philly is fun, and it's like a mini (way cheaper) NYC. There's some rough parts, but if you have street smarts you'll usually be fine.

Consider Austin Tx.

I don't know too much about it personally, but it's the most laid back pot friendly town I've been too.

Philly is fun, and it's like a mini (way cheaper) NYC. There's some rough parts, but if you have street smarts you'll usually be fine.

Philly is cool, I have a cousin who lives there but it doesnt have anything on NYC man. No beaches either. In nyc yea the rent is high as fuck lol but you make the money i promise you that. It's also more fun in nyc, can hang out with the girls in central park or go shopping in lower manhatan. to much stuff to do haha

UCLA, USC, CSULB, CSD, CSLA

In Los Angeles $600-$1200
4) How are the neighborhoods?
LA has diverse neighborhoods, there are good and bad.

California has nice weather, sexy woman, and not to mention weed and lots of it.

Please tell them man they won't listen. NYC is the only choice if you want to move north and live in the big apple. Why would you go to the west? It's way to far out there and you like seasonal weather. I know I'm biast but you won't regret moving to the big apple.

I've considered chicago, ny, philly, and boston. those are probably my top 4, but I've heard alot of bad stuff about philly, like it's bad for crime, bad neighborhoods...

i really would like to live in a place where I don't need to buy a car. I'm fine walking/riding a bike to work/school or a subway. I do it now, but it's only a half mile walk for me lol

Move to north philadelphia kensington section,You got Temple,university of pennsylvania and drexel.I love this neighborhood.You could get a part time hospital job an get like 15-18 an hour.

I'm just a short drive down 75 from you. And things suck here, Toledo isn't doing much better than Detriot. Around 20% unemployment, the city even layed off 75 cops! I'd go west If I had the chance. What kind off school? Have you heard of Oaksterdam?

Yeah I've heard of that school, and i'm a double major business administration/ecommerce. I was thinking of either going to Ross, but I realized I would have a better chance to get a job in my field if I change cities before I graduate

I've been to almost every major city in the U.S. at least 10 times each.
And everywhere it's pretty much the same.
All cities have the same stores and whatnot.
The only things that are significantly different are climate, and people's accents.
Even the amount of assholes per capita is all relative
Seems like everywhere you go, you run into the same type of asshole.
