I'm gettng ready to sale my Kawasaki 250. I had a guy back up into me in traffic & I got an insurance check for 1800bucks. I bought the bike for 1800bucks doh. So long story short I want a faster bike.

I'm short. Like 5"6' but I can totally handle the gears & clutch & throttle. I've driven a Honda rx1000 but in a parking lot I have good balance but I feel uneasy wen I cant touch the ground.
I was thinking I really want a 750.
My problem is I've noticed honda have fat wide bodies while suzukis are a bit more slim for your thighs to fit. What are your opinions for a great handling bike wit power & easy to dip. I am a short dude & I've heard your not supposed to hop from a 250to anything too big like a 900 or 1000 but I dnt knw I'm so stoned too many variables I wana figure out.

Post some

I have one of these...

Suzuki SV650S

And one of these...

In your case, I find it awfully hard to not recommend the Suzuki GSXR 750. That's an awesome bike, and for your size it will keep you happy for a very long time. It will feel like a rocket compared to any of the other 250's. Just be careful man.

Any of the 600's will give you plenty of bang for your buck. I've ridden all kinds of bikes (kawi 500r to 1300cc hayabusas). I love SV's, SUPER fun bikes! Love the V-twin torquiness.
I've ridden an 05 500r and that thing felt like a fridge to me... If your used to riding a 250, I think any of the 600cc's will give you plenty of bang for your dollar (150-160mph easy!). Not to mention the acceleration and the OMFG when the revs go 10,000+ in like half a second. Most people say "you can control the wrist", but I've found that SEVERAL friends have found 600's to be a lot more forgiving than larger bikes...
I've done it all from top speed runs, to drag strip racing, and to be honest it's all about having fun. I find that more often than not I choose an SV over the gsxr... Unless you're planning on riding like a bat out of hell on the back roads, the sitting posture of the sv makes it a lot more fun for the less extreme rides...

Either way, keep the shiny side up, bro!
Peace :-)

I have had my eye on a gsxr 750for so log now. I missed out on a blue gsxr 2005 for 2grand only because I took the safe road & got the hang of it all on a bike I can easily toss.

I'm getting my hours in at driving school for my m1. I did not want to take the lolli pop test at the DMV. Are they high maintnance? Good engine life?

What type of riding do you plan to do? Sportbikes are for canyon carving, trackdays, and bike nights-lol. Plan to do any of those things? If not, get a more comfortable bike, otherwise you may find yourself in a pretty uncomfortable riding position most of the time. My SV is more of my commuter bike. It's a great all around bike as far as being multi-faceted, but it pales in comparison to the power of a true sportbike. Also, the suspension on it sucks. Then again, I'm comparing it to my Italian beauty. If you plan to commute on it or do any city driving, you might also want to check out the Yamaha FZ6 or FZ1000. Kawi also makes a good bike called the Z1000. A liter bike might be a little more than you need though. The 750 is a great choice even still though. If you plan to do commuting or city driving on a 600 sportbike you'll be miserable. Their powerband is much too high up in the rev range. You'll end up having to rev the crap out of them. On a track, or canyons-good. City- NOT!

Yeah I am going to use it most of the time for commute but I have classes in the afternoon so I catch all the calm regular afternnoon traffic. Spacy & smooth. I have a car as well so comfort is no big issue. This is the first time I hear comfort & Suzuki together I thought they wud be rather comfortable.

I do all the long trips dwn pch to Santa barbara every other Sunday & that's why I crave a bit of speed. Nothing insanely fast but come on something that looks & sounds good on a highway. I rarely take streets but shocks are a big thing for me too

I play it safe all the time but I've thought about stunting too. At least a wheelie nothing all dramatic. But something for the ladies. I don't think I would control a 900on a wheelie. So are 750s mega torqy? Or descent?

Your going to tell me you've never done a wheelie? Not even once? Trust me I'm scared to do it so I won't do it. But let's say I hit a bump & clutch goes loose & my wrist snaps a bit I don't wantto flyy off the thing. I'm think all kinds of angles here. Sorry

No apologies needed. To each their own. In all my years of riding though, too often, I've seen kids mess their asses up really bad trying to do stuff like that before they've got even half the skill needed for it. Definitley don't go out looking to impress chicks with wheelies. When it comes to motorcycles, chicks are pretty stupid. Honestly, they couldn't give two shits if I pulled up on my Duc. All they know is, "oh, that sure it pretty" - lol. They wouldn't stop for even a second to laugh if you fucked yourself up while trying to bust something like that to impress them. Be smart, and take the time to get experienced. The more seat time, the better.

yeah dude. Totally get you. Belive me I was scared outa my mind when I got my 250. I let go of the clutch gong super slow up my driveway & she popped up & hit my fence. She leaned over & I got a pretty bad scrape on my right leg. But it tought me 2lessons. 1 ima never let go of the clutch at a stop. & 2 bikes can harm me with no speed I don't need to know what's the worst that can happen.

Craigslist. Guy has a 1993 Suzuki 750 gsxr. Engine blown out. But itsup for a grand. Worth the repairs? Just shoppng I'm not looking tohpp on a bad buy.

Good luck finding a shop with time to get in any major repair before summer is over...

Stick to working bikes unless it's a winter project you want to fix yourself.

GTFO with that 200 and 350 crap-lol.

Oh, and OP, now that you're thinking of stunting and doing wheelies, I'm outz.....

Good luck.
Afraid someone will find out about your small penis if you ride a small bike. Any dumb ass can walk out of a dealership with a new bike, but to take an old thrown away bike and make something that will turn heads out of it:hump:.
