I posted this in my journal, but again, little traffic and I'd like to sort this out on the RFN. Just lemme know what it is and I'm all over it :P I'm prolly gonna buy a cheaper ph tester so I can check my soil cuz you guys are gonna tell me to do that anyway, right? :P lol

that's showing calcium deficiency but goes on to say that it generally starts in newer (younger) leaves whereas mine is occuring on node 4 and lower. Also those spots look more ambery-red (like rust) in those pics, my spots are more of an earth-tone brown.

to add info, I made the mistake of giving them blooming nutes when I thought the power had gone out (tripping them to flower mode) but reverted to vegging light times. I used two different products. Shultz Bloom builder (5-30-5) and Plantprod Flowering fertilizer (15-30-15). I used relatively small doses. Here's a couple more pics of some new shoots. They're fairly yellow towards the stalk of the leaf and greener towards the edges. Going by this thread here -

I'm leaning towards a nitrogen and potassium problem because of the wrong nutes being used at the wrong time. Is it a simple matter of going and getting veg nutes? Or should I flush first? I had planned on tripping over to flowering when I get my 400w hps next weekend.

ok, so I went to my guy at the local hydro shop, bought a 400w hps and he threw in some nutes. Some Jungle Green 17-15-17 to continue my vegging with as well as some Super "B+" stress relief and rooting formula. He guarantees that my issue is a combo of poor light with tap water. Bought a res to let my water evap any chlorine and a ph testing kit for water. Time to go play with my room :P lol

Could be a lock out situation. Any time you see multiple def. signs you should suspect this, especially if you are giving it food. Could also be nute burn. In either case you probably shouldn't feed it for a little while until you get your pH sorted out. Best of luck my friend.

thanks, first step is getting the light up (bulb doesn't want to go into socket smoothly). I also tested my tap water and it's in the mid to high 7's so I gotta let my water stand in the res overnight and test it again. If it doesn't come down then I'm not sure what to do. Also, I'm going to let my plants dry out as I've already made the #1 noob mistake of overwatering, my dirt is always wet. And next time around I'm going to try a looser soil, thes stuff I used this time seems pretty compact. Roots are probably having a hard time seeking through it. They aren't gonna get fed for a while now.

lol. Ran into another issue. I don't know if it's because the socket wasn't perfectly round or if the bulb was like this from the start. but the amber glass around the contact point has shattered and a few flecks are inside the bulb. I'm pretty pissed cuz I caught the guy in the store on a day they weren't even supposed to be open and now can't deal with it until tomorrow. I had my whole room apart in prep for this lamp and now I have to put everything back the way it was just to sustain life :S Son of a...
