Five foot plant! I need help!

I have a plant that is 6 feet tall that has not started budding yet. How long will it take? How long after that should I pluck it and dry it? The leaves are droopy how do i make it stand up?

Could also be too dry causing the leaves to droop. Is your soil wet or dry? What is your light cycle if indoors?

If it is indoors you need a 12/12 light cycle with no light penetration. By no light, I mean 0, nothing. Then within a week or so it will show signs of sex. Then any where from 8 to 12 weeks to harvest.

Wouldn't the weed be stronger it I grew it inside! isn't it easier to grow inside too?:joint:

if you bring weed indoors from outdoors you can bring in bugs and desease indoors. Outdoors there are preditors to control bugs indoors there are not. Not a good idea to bring outdoor plants indoors.

As for smoke. Outdoors will (should) give you a higher yield. Potency is more related to genetics, but indoors (unless using organic ferts) usually has less flavour and power. Outdoors will usually give you better taste being grow organically. The sun us a lot stringer than indoor lights so you should get better resin production. Outdoor weed is usually better. Indoor weed is safer to grow as people do not find it (which is why more people grow indoors). Outdoors security is not as good and especially for comercial growers they can not afford to lose crops to cops, theives, etc.

Wouldn't this logic mean that hydroponic marijuana is weak?

Oh, outdoors is easier as everything is supplied, fert, water, light, etc. Indoors you have to play god and simulate outdoors. That is assuming that you prep your soil with the right stuff if your soil needs it. Some good compost and you're good to go. Water it when needed if there is no rain, and if the rain is good, you don't even need to do that.

No, again genetics is the main factor.
...lol, of course genetics is the main factor. But I always thought hydroponics was the most efficient way of letting plants absorb essential mineral nutrients as inorganichttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ions ions in the nutrient solution. When you grow in soil, the soil kinda just holds the nutrients, but the soil itself is not essential. Some advantages listed by wikipedia include:

"advantages include faster growth combined with relative freedom from soil diseases, and very consistent crops, the quality of produce being excellent. There is also a considerable reduction in growing area, weeds are practically non-existent, while standard methods and automatic operations mean less labor, less cost, and no hard manual work."

There is also the benefit of growing when there is snow on the ground.

id rather play god than wait and wait to know if it was male or female. i also like controlling the environment, outdoors its impossible for a plant to get 18 hours of light, even 12 is unlikely

Hydropnics is faster as the plant has a constant supply of nutes avaliable so it focus on the top of the plant and has a smaller root area. Plants grown hydroponically generally grow faster and look great, but lack flavour and smell compared to outdoor plants. Weed imparticular can become a lot harsher due to the chemicals used to grow it. With organic nutes becoming more common in hydroponic grows this is changing. This is why I would recomend to use organic ferts if you can for indoor grows to get that better flavour and smell.

Outdoors will always trump indoors for yield as no lights we can make can compare to the sun. The lighing is a huge factor for the plants. A lot of people that grow indoors will still try to grow some plants outdoors to take advantage of this.

That's why most outdoor growers that don't want to take a chance use clones to garuntee females.

No outdoors will not give 18 hours of light, but indoors will never give you the penetrating power of outdoor light. Why do you need 18 hours of light outdoors? The plants will not flower until later in the season even having less than 18 hours of light and you never get the yeild indoors you get outdoors. You get security though.

I grow both ways. Let me say sativas outdoors can grow really nicely because you don't have to worry about height.

I am so confused that hydroponics would yield less smell and flavour (I use foxfarm nutes by the way, so organic) as your still letting the plant receive all its essential macronutrients and micronutrients. Is the soil adding flavor?

Yup, that huge glowing ball of thermonuclear fusion is the best light, but placement is a factor as well...unless your growing in a completely open field with no trees or other plants to block any light.

My dream is to have a green house with sunlight streaming in and organic nutes running in a hydro system. It would be the best of both worlds!

If you are using organic nutes you are okay. The biggest problem is when using chemical nutes. They cause a lack of flavour. A lot of people still use them. You are good.

Outdoors will just give you better lighting and better yield.

Outdoor taste and potency better than indoor? Maybe on planet numbnuts but on earth indoor is by far better. Indoors you have total control of nutes, flushing, environment. Lots of dispensaries in SoCal don't even deal with outdoor pot. Look at the donation pricing and see what gets the higher price.

And people that don't know shit should read a lot more of this thread before being rude and unhelpful.
