Man don't do that if they are damaged then just let them fall off on their own. Just like nature intended.

his exact words were" dude they detract from the plant" why in any way would this even be? is it different when flowering or this is just seriously plant mutilating couple of people?

how could a huge solar panel "detract" from the plant. ill tell you what will "detract" from the plant... removing its biggest light catchers.

it is seriously plant mutilating.

i agree with leaving as many fan leaves as possibly. sometimes a dead or 3/4 dead fan leave is in the way of a bud site trying to justify its existence. I would remove a leaf such as this to allow light to hit the bud site shadowed under it.

do not cut off your fan leaves ( sun leaves ) you plants needs them to absorb the the sun rays that it puts out or the sprectrums
in a way you can say that the plant uses those fan leaves to feed off the suns nutes...
what leaves die off then they die off..but dont just go chopin them off....

i took mine off as i was told to. they said during flowerig take off most of the sun leaves at the top to let light filter through... i'm on my first ever grow so have nothing to compare with. but they are very healthy, plenty more leaves on the plant to take the light...

all of my big fan leaves have died 2-3 weeks into flower. most likely because i sprayed the plant and left the light on...burned her. will this affect my nugs size/potency greatly?

as opposed to not stressing the plant and leaving on the larger more efficient leaves.

most definetly it will effect your nug size, not so much your potency though. think about it, your plant has lost all its large solar panels.

how much you think it will affect my yield?

aside from the lack of details and pics its hard to tell anyways. are all of your fan leaves gone? there are guys who do this every grow and claim to have good yeilds but basic plant biology dictates that there will be reduced yields. most if not all of the guys who say removing the leaves is beneficial have never tried it the other way to realize its the better way to go.

think of it this way - the roots and leaves of your plant are its digestive system basically. when you remove a signifigant amount of leaves or roots its like you taking a overweight person and stapleing thier stomach. they will live, they will thrive even, but they will not maintain thier size because thier nutrient intake/processing system has been limited.

Yeah I had the same question, because some people say to cut them off, but it seems anytime I've gone against
nature it screws me. So I will leave mine on. There is a Banana OG that looks like a monster, lots of leaves covering huge buds.
I think I will leave it and if it screw up I will do something different next time. Thanks for the info!
