clear trics, clear amber trics, no cloudy trics - +rep

I do have a harvest log going on this forum, but this I think this is an interesting enough issue for its own thread.

Anyhow, the title says it. I'm beginning to see amber trics(clear amber), but the cloudy stage seems to being skipped. Quite concerned the smoke will become a couch lock smoke, which i don't want. Or at least as low as possible. Amber are maybe 1% at most, but they are increasing

Plant is a nl#5 from highgrade-seeds. Breeder gave 56 days, I'm on 68. 78w cfls grow, a micro. Plant looks good, getting maybe 50% brown pistils on main cola.

Tric picture is not the best, tough to focus. You can see a bit of a light amber tric a bit up from the center. To the right is a mass of clear. All suggestions welcome.

do you have a microscope to look closer?
could be the picture out of focus but I think I see a few cloudy ones

No scope, just jeweler's loupe and camera. Could be a few cloudy, but more likely focus issue. When I look by eye at a tric 'from the side', I've yet to see a straight cloudy tric. Those tric's are on the edges, which may not be a 'true sampling'. I definitely see some clear ambers, though getting a good pic of them has proven difficult.

On my first grow I noticed this as well. I think some trich's exhibit a dark brown color at the early stages of development.

I don't count them as amber/degrading trichs. In my case the brown is more in the trichome stalks.

You can see a few here:

And remember to check the trichs on the bud and not on the leaves.

good straight answer, +rep for you and skunk#1
i'll probably torture myself with tric pictures until i can't take it anymore
then i will harvest
the worse case is the extra amber will calm me down, which is probably what i needed in the first place

sandmonkey - incredible tric picture! - i only wish i could give you +++rep
so i noticed some yellow/darkening towards the base of the trics - didn't really see much amber
curious what the strain was, and was the picture when you harvested?

Strain was NLX (Northern Lights X White Widow) and the pic was taken just over a week from harvest.

Thanks for the +rep!
