My 1st grow space

Hi all

Ive never grown weed before, i smoke most days but its getting expensive now as my wife smokes more than i do!!!

Anyway i aquired a 6ftx3ft wardrobe yesterday :hump: and ive already got the white matt paint, 4+100W cfls(and cable etc, just need to wire tham up) and 2 PC PSU's

Also got 2 feminised White Rhino seeds ;-)
Was only going to grow 1 at a time and a clone but the drobe is so nice and big im gonna grow 2 and take clones

The drobe has a shelf about 4ft from the top where i will germinate in the dark. The bottom section i will have 4 pasive intakes. The exhaust will be a PC fan in the bottom of the shelf to move the hot air to the top chamber and then a PC fan taking the air out the back, with some form of air filtration ( any help on the exhaust setup greatfully recieved)

I will clean and paint it then and get the seeds germinating and will start a gro jurnal thingy on ere, which my wife may well post in too (her name on ere is FoxyDarkness or something lol)

Anyway family dentist time now so will be back later

Ok ive been out most of the day so not able to sort my drobe as much as i wanted.
Ive cleaned it out and given it a coat of white matt. Although the wood absorbed lots of paint so will give it another coat tomorow.

Tomorrow i plan on finish painting it and having the lights and the vents all done, with fans too.
My wife wants to germinate in moist tissue so when paint is dry we will be good to go.

Still worried about the exhaust and the smell though, any advice on that from anyone?

invest in a real light, preferably at least a 600 watt hps. CFLS will get you fluffy bullshit.

Well im kinda on a budget and i have 400W cfl's now

Ive cleaned and painted the drobe white with 2 coats of paint.

Ive wired the lights, just need to install them now. i just need to cut intake and exhaust vents now and get the fans in tomorrow and im all set to go tomorrow lol

Well man it would be nice if you could spring for the HPS it would make a hell of a difference. You will get bigger better buds. But the way times are now, you can only do what you can do.
Are you going to Veg and Bloom in the same space? Cause if you have a 2ft space at the top you should put some fluorescents up and have your veg there. Then you have the lower part for bloom . You can have some girls in veg while your blooming then you just keep the cycle going and you will never run out. Germinating the seeds shouldn't take but a few days in a wet paper towel. So your going to want to utilize the space up top that you have for something good like your veg. And carbon filter is the way to go, there is a whole bunch of DIY threads you should check it out. And depending on what you decide to do then figure out your intake and exhaust. You should put some pics up of this wardrobe. See what your working with. Keep it green!!!!

brucetree ~~ Look ive already got the CFL's so im not buying more lights now, maybe in future grows. But stop suggesting i change the lights now please.

NWGREEN ~~ I will be using the space at the top for germination and the exhaust, My misses wants to germinate in tissue paper than were gonna move the plant to the bottom of the cabinate. We will raise the plant towards the lights and veg and bllom in there.
We will be taking clones and keeping the whole process alive like that

IMy misses says i need to paint another coat on the drobe today so i will do that and get some pics up for you guys later

lets not forget a few very important things
firstly r2fs is in the uk which means that he pays A SHIT LOAD for eletric
and im not kidding our last li8ght bill was in conversion terms 1500 bux for roughly 3 monmths and thats with all econ heating and all econ bulbs in the house and i also have been forced to use low wattage power supplies because being disabled i cant afford huge bills and feed 3 kids
im also r2fs's old lady and i pay da bills i wont let him use those bulbs because i have grown for around 17 yrs and know that if u do it right u can get free decent bud on the bulbs he has
secondly the bulbs your using where we live would be immense to run having grown in america my homeland and here in the uk i can say that yes in the usa those bulbs wouldnt be a big deal and you could explain them away
living in a tererace house in the uk in the middle of a village with no real space to grow food let alone weed they would be noticeable
very much so
and then thirdly we go to the jump on the leccy meter in usage
as r2fs well knows because he worked for the lectric company before he moved in with me
the fucking pigs would be watching us so damn close we would smell of bacon
and having had some dear mates serve up to 8 years for growing in the uk
i would rather see my kids grow up

as for the rest im sure that he appreciates your help i know he does cause i have told him everything he has read on here well before he had read it then got told you know they said the same as you

thats what i was thinking we have some strip bulbs left over from the last growhouse and they are small enough to fit in the top of cab

Ah ok so it looks like the top will need painted now too then :roll:

Foxy has had the roller out this morning and rollered the whole cab (minus the top). she has hidden the brush marks, which were maid worse with cheep brushes and cheap paint( No not my bad painting :cuss:)

So happy times are a commin bongsmilie

Yea man I think you guys will be fine using what your using. I am from Florida so we were always trying to find a way to keep the power down and the heat away. Kinda sucked !!! But you know what, it always worked out. Well hope to see some nice girls here in a bit when the wardrobe is done. Have a good day Peace

Yay i got away with not painting the thing anymore as the misses used a roller on top of my 2 brush coats and its all nice and nice :-P

I wired in the lights via a junction box and connected the plug.......didnt work????:cuss:

On quick inspection i decided the initial wiring i did last night :bigjoint:probably would have worked if i wasnt stonned last night :leaf:

Anyway i fixed that :shock: and all worked :wink: but as the rail in my drobe is at the top of the thing the light wont reach me plants :cry:

Ok...:idea:...I took the rail off and with some cord, hooks and some sticky back plastic bongsmilie
Anyway rail and lights are now suspended and can be altered in height(im gonna change the cord for chain ASAP)

Drilled 6 small inlet holes in bottom of drobe and tried to seal for light leeks :sad:. Ok i did my best but :wall: i did my best. With a blanket over drobe its ok :lol:

Still the exhaust vents need cut and fans and filter need to be done....Tomorrow :bigjoint:

Ok my plants have been growing for a few days over 10 weeks now...1 plant sored very high and almost touched the lights (which i had to reposition)

Anyway that 1 is done and it smells like i hvae a gym in my room lol. The other is a little late but i think a week or so and that 1 will be ready too...

Someone said i was gonna get fluffy bullshit...well i didnt :)

If i remember i will post pics later lol
