10 Weeks and No Amber Waves of Trichs

dude it doesnt matter what i grow it will mature lol im not saying it will mature in the time alotted by most growers and what most people find ''ideal'' but dont spread misinformation about them NOT maturing at all, all cannabis matures, its a biological, evolutionary trait, me or you or god cannot change that and esp no special strain, yea my asian sativa might take 20-25 weeks to flower, but it WILL....it WILL turn amber

FYI, amber trichomes are an indication of THC degrading into other cannabinoids like CBD; which cause that couch-lock "stone" I hate.

you are right sand monkey, but also it isnt proven 100 percent that when the trichome turns amber it has degraded, thats only theory, but again your right some people dont like the couchlock stone, i guess i just like to get stoned, at the same time picking while alot of the tirchs are clear and cloudy you lose weight and potency but heh some people prefer different things

what do you mean by 'loose budded'?

Also my sativa's are the same way. I havent seen a single amber trichome and they are comming up on week 11. The buds are growing out of the buds (is this loose budded?) and then they stop and I think they're going to ripen and again more buds grow lol. Hey I am not complaining just being patient!

'Loose Budded'- The type of sativa that is more woven and fluffy. They don't harden as much as an indica. I have one right now that is in wk 12 and the buds are still weaving but, they're also 3" in dia. No amber yet.

Patience is a virtue. Some tropical sativas, like this ultra haze take 18+ weeks to mature.

I'm of the opinion that Marijuana is either ripe or not. Using trichome colour as the singular guage for maturity is a slippery slope that can lead to making less-than-wise decisions. Especially when you try to manipulate the high by pulling early.

i cant say why for certain can anyone else? i just know some sativas never turn amber. ive never grown a strain that haddent myself but ive herd and seen this many times on diffrent websites

You are exactly right. Wish I could remember one of numerous articles and books I read It from but I cant, Which is really gonna hurt my credibility on this matter, but...some sativas do not get amber trichs because amber trichs are not only a sign of maturity but of higher levles of CBD and CBN, additional cannibinoids that contribute to the "couch lock high", indicative of hard hitting Indicas. Sativas contain more THC Than Indicas Giving you the "uppy", "head high". Some Sativas produce little to almost no CBD and CBN, meaning they will not produce amber. Indicas which have slight to significantly higher levles of CBD and CBN, cause "couch lock" and are the main contibuters to amber trichs. If anyone can find material either correcting or backing up my statement, please post it.

for one thank you sprues for bringing some REALITY to this thread besides me. i cannot beleive i am 2 v 1 on this amber trichs, im sorry but thc also causes the ''couch lock'' you all speak of not liking, im sorry but this is true this is what cannabinols do they effect your nuerological functions beleive what you may buy do some research, it is alot of cbd and cbn but thc also contributes, by picking before AT LEAST 50 percent of the trichs amber you are almost guarenteeing a less potent product...i dont know man it seems like people just pick early and say they are looking for the head high just to make themselves feel better about picking early buds, how can you let your plants go all this time, all the hard work and effort and just pick em 2 weeks early becuase you justified in your own mind that you want a uppy head high, i just dont get it, if you want a head high in general just get a sativa dont waste your time pulling 7 week flowering indicas. also blakk mask again i cannot stress this enough, all marijuana, and i repeat ALL marijuana will turn amber, again my challenge is on the table, if you can provide this supposed miracle head high strain that doesnt amber the harvest is yours, sadly you a purley delusional to think that this is true, read the most basics of the basics and you will see that this no amber trichome is not only impossible but i cannot beleive im aruging it and getting such resistance

Well, first off who said anything about pulling Indicas early...tisk tisk
And secondly, I also mentioned that sativas have cbd and cbn just not in the percentages of Indicas.

For all I know ur right, but I dont think so. Personally I dont grow sativas, never have, never will (flowering for 16 weeks for max potency....naahhhh)
I also have never grown a strain that doesent turn amber nor seen one, but I have read (cant belive everything you read, right?) plenty about it, but as said, I cant find anything to back it up at the moment, really dont care too. lol. Wish I could. You makin such a big deal about it, u find something that says "all MJ produces amber" and Ill rally behind you the whole way brotha. But at least I gave a reson why a plant might not produce amber, you just Insulted me and ranted about how people wont agree with you.

Wow...mine look exactly like that, just a little less ripe! It seems that now the flowers are hardening..they used to be kind of soft and fluffy..not sure if that means anything but it seems like the pistils may be on their way to receding.
