what does it mean if anything, when the stem of my sprout is turning bright red?

if the stem is going red, it could be a sign of nitrogen deficiency (nute lockout) is the plant in big enough pot?, is plant stunted? these are both signs...

it is only about 4 days old and is about the same size as the rest of em

i also have a question about my lights i have a shop light that has 2 4' floros one is aphilips plant and aquarium bulb with 1600 lumens. the other is a eco lux wide spectrum plant and equarium bulb with 1900 lumens, both are 40w each. i wash wondering is this enought light for my first grow? i cant afford anymore or better lights.

that is not enough light for more than a few grams of weed, i would recommend saving some money and buying an hps bulb before you start. i had to learn the real way that preparing for your grow is the most important part of growing, making sure everything is in line and that everything will work appropriately.

in a couple of days i am planning on adding a couple cool whites in another shop light would that help? i have already started so i am kind of in need of a quicker solution now.

Yeah that would be better or you can add some cfls around the 4 ft floros u have now.

the home hardware near my house has a 4ft shot light for 15dollars fits 2 tubes and tubes are cheap. but i cant really get anything for cfls

You can try some auto flower strains,flower clones when they root or 12/12 from seed.You wont yeild as much as you would if they were to veg but you can fit more plants in since they would be smaller.Also get some t5 high output bulbs.The floros you have now would just be good for vegging unless you add like 2 more sets when you start flowering.IMO i say save up for at least a 150 hps.It cost 69.75 from htg plus shipping..
