which system gives the best yield?

Dutch Pots/bato buckets ftw! They are great drip feed systems w/ a individual mini res for each pot, they can be converted to full on DWC with a drip, they can also be made into two different types of aeroponic systems, or they can be made into a hybrid system of all three...

is soil the worst for yield?
No, some soil growers grow as much or more than some hydro growers. Soil just takes longer so in turn it does lower your yearly yield since you get less grows in. Plant for plant the yields are about the same, just the length of time is longer. I've seen some monstrous soil grows on this site. Personally hydro is the way to go.

But hydro generally produces faster growth than soil, so faster growth within a giving time means more yield.:peace:

Seeing as the sun is the most powerful light anyone can reasonably afford (and it's free!) I would say outdoors gives the best yield. Yield depends on the lights a lot more than the medium.

I was speaking with a dispensary owner the other day, and he said that using five gallon buckets, spaced about two feet apart, and using an aeroponic system, one can get up to a pound of dried bud per plant if you maximize both veg and flowering times. He said he grows AK 47 and Big Wreck to 6-8 feet, with lots of colas on the branches.

Does this sound right to anyone or everyone here? If this is so, then it would seem to be the best way for patients, who are limited to 6 plants (in CA), to maximize their yields.

i would go that route if i could only grow 6 plants, but in general i think big plants are for outside.
i know a lot of people grow these indoor trees but i never understood or could get behind that method of indoor growing.
but if ur only doing 6 plants yea, grow trees for sure!
also, a pound per plant sounds like a lot to me, but not impossible, just unlikely...
outdoors, 1 pound per is easy cheesey with the right gear and location.
