i've got a few quick questions for any hydro growers out there. i just finished my first indoor grow of super skunk and diesel from g13labs.. the seeds where freebies from the attitude.. my first grow was in soil under a 250 hps.. i know i know, lol.. i was thinking of trying a hydro grow for my next attempt, and had just read this article in Skunk magazine where the author says to use a 50/50 blend of vermiculate and perlite as a soilless mix to grow in.. all of his logic sounds good to me for using this mix, more oxygen available to the roots, etc.. my question is this.. i have seeds that i want to start.. last time i started them using the paper towel method, and once sprouted, i put them in dirt.. easy cheesy japenesy.. but if i were to go with the perlite/vermiculate mix, what would b the best way to germ my seeds? should i use the same paper towel method as before, and once they sprout, put them in a rockwool cube, or can i even germ them in the rockwool? i think i have read that you can germ right in the rockwool, but i am not positive of this.. and here is my major concern.. after i have the seed or seedling growing in the rockwool cube, how do i go about transplanting it into my new soilless hydro mix? the article just talks about doing a basic handwatering with nutes everytime that i have to water the plants, which sounded fine by me, as i said, i am still a newby to growing, and any method that just sounds nice and basic and not too many moving parts etc. sounds like a great way for me to get me feet wet, so to speak, with hydro.. any help out there is greatly appreciated..
