weird I havent been able to connect during the day 9 to 5 eastern time for 3 days now.
now at 1115 i have no problem getting on.
I am gonna try to find another site to upload my pics to. then i will rebuild this journal

Strange, wont let me edit my previous posts in this threads. anyways here are some pics.
This is the ceiling exhaust I put it. I recently changed the ducting so it goes straight up and out of the ceiling of the closet. I also covered this whole piece in spray foam and foam egg crate and covered it with a piece of 1//2" cdx plywood. to muffle the sound.

it all looks great so far john. have you thought about what you are going to use for a light reflector? my first 2 grows were done with the walls painted white, it worked but after the 3rd grow using mylar panels i could of kicked myself. the yeild increase was well worth the 25 dollar roll of mylar. making the panels is simple.
i took cardboard boxes and cut them to the sizes i wanted. spray one side of the broads with an adhesive spray. lay the mylar as flat as you can and roll it out with a rolling pin. you could even build a custom light reflector.

is mylar the same thing as those safety blankets you can get at walmart?
i have no clue what I am gonna about a light hood.
I am going to take some of the lights off of the hanging fixture. I bought a few power strips, I am going to hang those horizontally and add the socket lights to them. gonna do this on all three sides of the room.
I can no get the heat to drop below 83f so tomorrow I am going to install a ac unit. no more fucking around with tons of fans that do nothing but add to the noise problem and suck up more electricity
do you think a hood is really needed?

a hood is really needed to reflect the light towards the plants. if your temps are 83 with the lights on that is not to hot to grow in. you can buy the mylar online or at the local grow shop. i have heard people talking about emergency blankets in the sporting goods section at wally world being made of mylar, but was thin and hard to work with. i can't tell you from personal experience.

I have a ton of aluminum flashing laying around. I could use my bend press and prolly come up with a decent hood.
do you think if I used aluminum it would reflect to much heat?

right on, im gonna try to make some something on monday once I get a day off. until then I am gonna try to dial in the light system i bit more. gotta get the ac unit up and running as well.

Today I decided to rebuild the hanging light fixture. I wasnt to happy with it. After reading how cfls are better placed in a horizontal position I decided to change the whole idea of the fixture.
I am going to have 12 lights totaling 339 actual watts on the hanging fixture.
I will also be adding 2 more power strip bar light fixtures. 3 total power bar fixtures each with 3 bulbs on them totaling 78 actual watts per strip. with a grand total of = 495 actual watts. I wont be using all of those bulbs until needed.
Right now I just have one clone trying to grow some legs in some rockwool. once I get my papaya seeds and they have gotten big enough then I will start turning on more bulbs.

all Fired up. looks good. kinda heavy but I have plenty of re enforcements put in place to hold her up. id say it ways between five and ten pounds.
Im gonna let this thread get buried. it got all messed up with the first couple of pages missing the pictures. Im gonna start it over, if a moderator could delete it that would be cool too.
