yeah, this is one of those things that can cause confusion, unfortunately the terms get tossed around interchangeablyTHERE is a big difference in a 3 way switch and a 3 way fixture. a 3 way switch means u can turn on hallway lights from this side of the hallway and u can go to the other side of the hallway and another switch will turn them off or on.
3 way switch= 1 light that is controled by 2 or more switches.......... didnt use google for that. but hey who can trust a pothead electrcian ? thats why we need people like u to double check thingshell u had me googlin shit for a min. there! till i relized we were talkin bout 2 different things. keep up the good work there are alot of folks on here who do just

but the 3 way you describe, that is fine, 3 way fixture bad, at least for regular cfl's, +rep for setting things clear
