What is that, I have a zoom but that just makes things blurry, does most cameras have a macro button? I borrowed a 400 dollar camera but don't know how to use it, just point and click lol.
The camera that I'm using is a Canon and says it has eighteen shooting modes, but I can't find any macro button.
Any advise on how to work a "Canon Power Shot A530 Camera" would be awesome, I could take a snapshot of the camera with my web cam.
it kinda looks like it might be a boy, but it is impossible to say definitely from that pic because it is better, but not quite close enough for me to tell... if it seems like it's a bulbous thing that is starting to protrude out from the plant on a stalk, it's probably male... you won't know til you see more bulbous things forming... however, if a hair or two start poking out of the end, then you know you have a female... get your camera lens right up on it and hold your button down halfway, maybe that will help your camera focus better. i notice on mine (even though i have a different camera than you) that sometimes i have to just back it off a bit (and experiment with slightly different distances and angles), and putting the crosshairs of the camera right on the subject and hitting the picture button halfway again, helps me bring the small things i'm taking pics of into focus.
you've seen my grow journal humbolt, it has 500 million closeup pics of my preflowers as they developed with detailed descriptions- just check out my pics and you will see what mine looked like when they were very, very small, and how they ended up, male and female... hope it helps, and hope your plant is really a girl!!!

No need, searched the model in google.
Just press the MF down button on the back. the one with the picture of the flower, thats the macro mode.

Thanks for the info UnEmploymentDude, that was totally cool of ya but I had already found that button and I'm still having a hard time with it, guess I shoulda went to collage
I'm going to give the plants another week or so before I start flowering, I want to determine sex before hand, so that should give me plenty of time to practice with this camera.

nah, it's a fuji e510 5.2 megapixel camera... i think it was $150-200 on ebay... not a bad little camera, fully manually adjustable... pretty cool to have on a digital camera.

Awesome looks like you scored, I have a decent camera but still learning how to use it, as I was trying to capture my preflowers (no success as of yet) I found a video mode called compact and now I'm starting a video page, check out the following link.
