The 12/12 From Seed Club, Show off Your Girls

Hey all, I am thinking about doing a 12/12 grow but I am interested on some results previous growers have had. I know randy has had amazing results but that he also uses an hps. I will only be able to use CFL's due to heat issues. Anyways I have a large armoire i plan to use. Dimensions are 4 feet widex1.5 feet deepx 6 ft tall. I am going to use greenhouse seeds Strawberry Haze and also Alaskan Ice. I wanted to do a sog doing about 12-15 plants using 2 L bottles as my containers or hopefully 1 gallon containers if I have enough room. If i do straight 12/12 and use say 500 or 600 watts of cfls with good soil and good ventilation, how much do you all think i could yield. I am curious because i havent seen too many results from 12/12 grows. Also I see that many ppls 12/12 grows are 11-14 weeks long. If I use a 7-9 week flowering strain wouldn't it only last 7-9 weeks before i could harvest or would it be longer? I havent seen any 12/12 crops being harvested after 7-9 weeks.

any and all help would be greatly appreciated. i am willing to wait for a few more weeks of flowering if the yield will be worth it. With the information i have posted above, if someone could post results or a comparison of yield or guess of what yield i could have would be much appreciated and is my main concern. Thanks again

nah its unlikely you'd get a 7 week harvest, it will take time to grow before it mature, from the looks of things the quickest they show is at like 2 weeks so maybe 9 could be done, but i would expext them to come in from 10 onwards. doing it with coco would speed it up a bit and is pretty good for this mehtod from what i''ve read from atmosphere over at icmag, who is absolutly sick at this. but if your relatively new to growing or never used coco its probably best to go soil with minimal nutes, you don't want many mistakes as it could seriously affect the yield

I would say you about right there 'cookin', I'd say 11 weeks for an 8 week flowering strain. I grow Kush and NL, the NL is an 8 weeks flowering strain, fast finisher, but I see first preflowers at 18 to 21 days on average growing 12/12 from germination and harvest around day 75 to 77 -ish!

My plants in the pic a couple of posts above are at end week 9 and a couple more weeks will finish them.

Coco will push your yields up but does take practice to get dialled in.

yeah nice plants cerebral, i'm going to be sticking a few in coco, but the majority will be organic soil, ive only ever used soiless medium so i want to see the difference in taste

This is a great thread. Very informative. I grow outdoors and normally wouldn't be in this section except that I spotted a pic that lead me here.
I live in Cali and belong to a medicinal cannabis compassion group. Patients are always looking for was to become self sufficient. 12/12 from seed/clone would work great in many ways.

finallly read all 59 pages, great stuff! I am starting a 12/12 grow. Decided it was best with my size constraints. I have a couple of quick questions if you all would not mind. I am trying two seeds in one pot as I have seen in this thread, it is a 3qt. I plan on putting them in there right after popping. My grow area is about 3 feet by 3 feet or so. I am using Hindu Kush, which came here insane fast from BuyDutchSeeds.com (mad props to them for shipping so fast to the US). I have 9 cfl, 7 are 2700k and 2 are 5500k just to fill in a different spectrum. Here are my questions on 12/12.

1. I assume I still need to use saranwrap over the pot to create humidity until they sprout up (again using two seeds in the one 3qt pot filled with FF ocean forest.
2. For my very first watering, how much is enough based on my pot size and seed amount?
3. Since I am using CFL, I obviously put them as close as I can within about 2-3 inches from tops, right?
4. I am going to try LST as well, the branches are pretty bendable I assume?

That is all for now, this thread has been a real inspiration for a personal smoker who just wants a little stash for himself

I would suggest that you plant the seeds in separate containers. I used 16oz plastic party cups for mine until they showed sex. After that the females went into 1 gallon pots for finishing. If you plant them in the same pot the roots will tangle and the plants will fight for nutrients.

If you can afford it I would get some more 5500k or 6500k bulbs for the veg faze. What you have will be fine but I think you will see faster my vibrant growth if you have a greater blue spectrum light of light before the plants really start flowering.

1. Great choice of soil! I use FFOF mixed with light warrior and I can't complain. You really dont need the plastic wrap to keep your humidity. Just spray the plants down 3-4 times a day and that will be fine. The great thing about CFLs are that the light really doesnt sap the humidity out of plants like an HPS or MH would.

2. I would soak the soil before planting the seeds. After you plant the seeds, pour maybe a 1/4 cup of water directly over where you planted the seed. This will just settle the soil and give a nice home to your new baby.

3. The distance depends on the wattage of your CFLs. I used 27w bulbs for veging and I can put them 1" away from the leaves with no heat stress. When I switch to flowering I switch to 43w bulbs and keep them about 2-3" away from the leaves.

4. LST is very intimidating but very easy as well. Just be smart and you wont mess them up. Check out my grow in my sig. You will see that I am using CFLs and doing LST on 6 plants and its working great!

Good luck have fun and dont over water or over feed. Less is more when growing weed.

Another user here has done the two seed method in one pot succesfully so figured I try it and see how it goes.

I decided against the paper method and stuck my seeds right in the pot tonight and put them to bed, Will start 12 light 12 dark starting tomorrow.

So until they sprout, just keep the top soil misted or can I still lighty water until they come out? First grow so am open for suggestions but as of now thats what I have done....

looking good, but a little stretchy maybe due to lack of light? LST will help alot, it will force the plant to grow outwards instead of upwards

My plant is looking great nice and bushy but unfortunately looks like it has some balls. Still hoping maybe they will pop open and some white hairs will come out lol. I dunno I've had males many times and this really does not look like a male. Pretty disappointing. Guess my paranoid ass is going to have to give up and order some seeds

I plan on doing 12/12 from seed with my first grow. I am in the process of germing 2 mystery bagseed and 2 WL White skunk and 1 Fem Cali hash from attitude ( great company by the way ). I Have a 150 hps but my ballast is capable of running MH as well, (icecap ballast) I also have MH bulb, Is it possible for me to use the MH for lets say the first 3 weeks, or so until I see pre-flowers then throw the HPS in there to flower it out? Has anyone tried this yet. Is it a good idea or no? I want to limit the streching, I am also going to LST the plant because I am limited on grow space 2' x 2' x 3'

That would not be considered a 12/12 from seed obviously, but hey! I'm for having girls. Before trying this 12/12 from seed I never grew a male due to the way I veg them. Aside from eventually burning up my plants ( due to my own ignorance), I have noticed a high ratio of male to female. Just tossed 2 more out today. If I could get 12/12 from seed and all girls, say feminized seeds, then yea that would be alright. But since I refuse to pay the prices for feminized seeds I will stick to mothers and clones and do a 12/12 from clone which is another thread on here.

Some will argue with me about the bean being male or female by genetics of that particular bean, but I refuse to believe that. If you are paying good money for beans sent to you and running them on 12/12 from the start, it seems a waste of money to me. I don't know the male to female ratio of the others on here but mine are high MALE and if you think of the time it takes to water and nurture them it can be aggravating to say the least. Wasting time and soil and nutrients on males is not my thing. That is just my opinion though. I like the idea of a 12/12 from seed grow but the aggravating part of it is like I said finding so many males. I want girls only.

Bluetick I dont know if your talking to me or not, but I am referring to having them MH on 12/12 then about 1 min before the light kicks on when I see the first sign of preflower, switch out the bulb to HPS??? If your question IS directed toward myself, how is that not 12/12 from seed?????????? If its not directed toward me.. then I'm sorry for the reply im just confused.
