I'm glad she perked back up for you.

As for the growths, my little ones had the same kind of thing going on. They just turned out to be new leaf growth like he said. Might be a little early for sexing. Take a look in the gallery at the female/male pictures. It's pretty obvious what sex they are when they "pop".

I'm also concerned with how tall your babies are. Stretching weakens the stem and they can fall over if they get too tall. I think one of the boys here recommended lowering your light, and I 2nd that. I use CFls and keep my lights maybe 4-6 inches away. It keeps them short and fat. Be on the lookout for burn though, too close can be bad too. :)

As far as the miracle grow, I'd used that moisture control stuff and I had fungus growing in a matter of days. Little yellow mushrooms dude. I won't touch soil anymore. Bubbleponics is WAY easier and the growth is amazing.

Your doing great for your first grow. It's all about trial and error. That's how we learn.

your plants look a little stretched prob need to be closer to the light. Don't let the MG soil scare you I use it for my plants and have had great luck with it. Only problem i've had is a slight gnat issue other than that the soil has been fine. :peace:

yeah the MG soil hasn't really given me any problems. I had slight nute burn doing my first nute introduction but even that was minor, to say the least, so they seem to be doing fine. thanks a lot!

thanks a lot for the advice. well my lights are right up on my plants. the thing is, I just need more lights and more powerful lights which will all be taken care of today.

I'm going to get some Y adapters and hopefully some 40 or 42w CFL's and maybe one HPS. My budget is very tight, so I'll have to buy stuff as time goes along.

do you think I should rebury my stems up to the first set of leaves and turn those stems into roots to combat the stretching of my babies?

thats a male..........

LUDA.
:-(
Luda are you sure? because I never put the plants on the 12/12 cycle and that plant is way too young to be flowering on it's own. at least I think. do you want me to get you some better photos maybe?

yeah Luda, after looking at the plants today, those little things have emerged some more and they look to me to be little tiny leaves. I don't think she's showing sex quite yet. that was a bad photo and may have been decieving, but just to make sure do you want me to message you some more photos for you to take a look at?

hey treemann, you care if i show one off that was grown in mg and harvested this morning?

Hi treemann,
I think MG is a very good soil ,i don't care what the big gurus say.I've use it for my first grow too and it's look great! At one's i did some changes to my soil after listening to the big shots over here and i almost lost all my girls. So what i did is I took my plant out of the pat put it under my sink and washout everything, and replant it in a new MG potting soil and just put watter on them.
I'll put some PIC shortly

Never buy any compost that allready has feed in it like miricle grow. You want a nice compost with no additives this is the only way of knowing what and when you plants are reciveing feed.Miricle grow is one of the most over rated products out there.

okay so I transplanted my plants into separate pots today, just a minute ago actually.

all along I have been using miracle gro potting soil which obviously already has nutrients in it. now, I did have 3 plants in one pot with that soil. the plants seem to use up those nutrients rather quickly, so I went out and bought a nutrient so I could feed them.

now my dilemma comes. since I've put them in new pots with NEW SOIL, the same soil with nutrients already in it, do I still need to provide it with more nutrients or will the new soil provide the plants with a new resource of nutrients for the time being?

and yeah I know MG isn't the best, I was using it unknowingly and my plants seem to be doing well at this point so I'll just roll with it. it's my first grow anyway.

and the reason I say this is urgent because one of my upper leaves is developing a little brown tip and from what I understand that can be caused by nutrient deficiencies? is there any other reason it could be doing that?

any help is appreciated, thanks!
You're burning your plants with MG, very common. 3 plants in one pot should be set for at least a month in MG soil.

I use to use MG soil when i first started...then i started to use Sunshine Soilless Mixes...completely neutral just 80% peat moss 20% perlite
you control everything that goes into your pots...i like being in control and knowing exactly what goes into my ladies..i agree with what
everybody else has already told you

kevin those are some nice looking plants. looks like you'll had a successful first grow.

I can see what people say about the mg soil and the burning because my biggest plant looks like it has mild nute burn and I haven't even added any nutes to it since like 3 water feedings ago so i know that has nothing to do with it. and I even added the nutes at 1/4 power.

but then again my other plant, is doing beautifully in the mg. only the lower to leaves seem to have any nute burn and even at that I'm not sure if that is actually nute burn or something else. I would like to transplant though just so I can add my nutrients in without having to worry about what nutrients are already in the soil and is it gonna be too much and all of that. I need to repot my plants anyway and bury the stem so we'll see what happens.

maybe I'll switch from MG, maybe I won't, depends what I can get a hold of. my budget is pretty much at zero right now after I upgraded my lights.

thanks for the advice everyone

I overwatered a bit the other day and I use the MG soil. I really like the soil although I did notice some nute burn on the leaves.....not bad and only on 1 plant........(gotta ask a question sorry guy know it's not my thread hope you don't mind) When this happens do you wait a little longer than norm to water again or do you continue your normal watering schedule????

THANKS!!!

Sorry for butting on your thread guy! :peace:

The number one thin people do with potted plants of all kind Marijuana or not is over watering. This will also cause the leaf tips to brown. Its very important to let the soil dry out between waterings. Its easy to tell by picking up the pot when you water and see how heavy it is.. Then when its VERY light its time to water again. I like to water then let a plant go without till it just starts to wilt. If you keep track of how long it took you can now tell when to water so you are watering juts before the plant would start to wilt. This will allow the roots to get very much needed O2. After a bit youll get the hang of it and know just when to water.

yeah I've started to a bit even though I probably could let them go maybe one extra day without water. I do the finger test and wait until my soil looks completely dry and then I water but now I'm extremely careful not to over water.

I germinated some outdoor goo and sour jack seeds, about 14 of them, won't be planting anywhere near that amount, maybe 6 at the most, but yeah. i was told they were feminized as well. so I'll be making a new journal soon enough to keep everything in order and to get some help along the way.

thanks guys.
