Small white bugs

When my husband and I water our plants in the run off we are finding TONS of small white bugs that cluster together. We do not have a lot of gnats in the room, and they do not seem big enough to be spring tails. They are extremely small, and in the soil along with the run off water. We are thinking maybe water lice? We are going to treat tomorrow with diatomaceous earth since we just watered, and were thinking of treating with H2O2 as well, but wondered if we could do that with a nutrient feeding? We are a little more than 4 weeks from harvest and don't want to hurt the plants. Any advice?

I really don't think they are spider mites, a friend had them and they were different. The bugs are maybe half the size of a grain of rice. If you disrupt the water, they cluster together, I've never seen anything like it.

I have the same tiny white bugs in my runoff.I have had them in my room for months now, but the only time I ever see them is after I water, in the runoff. They don't seem to hurt the plants much. But I want em gone anyway. They always conragate in the puddles in my plant trays. Then when the puddle drys up, you can see them trying to jump out of the black plastic plant trays but, they just can't make it. Then by the end of the day they dissapeare, are they dying, or are they just finding there way back to the soil.
Please help

I've had a huge root aphid infestation that sounds very similar to what you've described. Can't get rid of them! Are you noticing any deficiencies in your leaves? Any leaves curling down or margins curling down? Loss in yield? I've tried EVERY solution imaginable; sulfur burner, Go Gnat, tobacco, Neem, dish soap (killed plants), Pyrthium foggers, insecticide sprays...nothing works. Only throwing the plants away.

I just used diatomaceous earth yesterday. Did it work for you? After hours of research, I've read Botaniguard and Imidacloprid might work...

Let me know your result!

How did you use the garlic? the things I have don't jump, they run all over the soil and borrow in it. I've only ever seen like one or two actually on the plants. They run all over the containers too. I used end all and they go away for a bit, I didn't know I had to use it every two days and was using it like every 4 - 5 and rotating in neem oil. They go then come back. I had mites, they are long gone. I started to use End all every two days (2nd treatment done) and they seem to be losing steam. I'm hoping I can eliminate them soon now that I know what they are or at least have a better idea.

day 5 now (2 applications of end all - using every other day) and my plant is already starting to seem a little better. The leaves are still mess up look like a mg deficency almost, but I know it was those little bastards in the soil. the leaves have stopped dropping off the plants now which is good so I'm thinking that it is the start of recovery. I hope so cuz there is still about 6 weeks left in flowering. I'm going to continue to spray every other day to keep trying to eradicate them.

Stay vigilante friends and win the war on bugs.

Yeah I still don't think they were white flies. We only harvested 7 lbs which is less than we thought we should get. We were expecting 8-9 up until the bugs popped up. We replaced EVERYTHING, the matting, the buckets, etc so hopefully we got them completely out.

I have the same problem. they are soil lice and they dont harm the plant or roots. they eat bad stuff in your soil and are beneficial bugs. they wont die and are immune to a lot stuff. I tried diatomaceous earth for weeks and they just crawl right though the white powder. soap water, pepper, onion, garlic, eggs shells or neem oil will not work. dont stress they are there and not a thing you can do about it.:-P
