the main good practice is not to send to your name/grow location
can be a bit of a hassle, but gives an extra level of security

I am only aware of one case in indiana where seeds being caught led to a bust. And that one may have been avoidable if the grower had not allowed LEO in to the house w/o a warrant. Indiana is the only state I have heard of doing that.




I like to think about it this way...Recently there was a "breeder" busted selling seeds from his girlfriends home in the state of indiana. He sold (thousands of?) seeds for quite a while with out attracting the attention of the cops. This particular person had warrants in another state, so he was already on LEO's radar anyway. As I understand it, he was using his real name on the return address of the packages he was shipping, and all payments he received being collected in his girlfriends name. He also advertised on many web forums to sell his seeds.

With all these security lapses, he was sure to attract attention and have the DEA monitoring his every move...right? Not quite. He got busted because some snot nose little punk stole mommy's money to buy some seeds. Mom caught him, and the kid told her where the money was going. Mom calls the local cops in the breeder's home state, and the rest is history.

Moral of the story? Cops are not all seeing and all knowing. You have to do something pretty dumb to get caught moving seeds. Worst thing that is likely to happen is that you get a letter from customs saying your seeds have been confiscated, and instructions on how to claim your contraband.

I'll second the spirit of this post. You really have to try to get caught with seeds, or at least be very careless.

The doctor mentioned sent to his home, and persisted in reordering even after having some seeds confiscated. That and letting LEO into his home without a warrant. Not clever.

Saw another documented case, was also in the midwest. Again no warrant, LEO just comes up to the property to 'talk'. Guy had lots of grow supplies out in the open, and no garden outdoors that would have needed them. So 'probable cause' is in play, and entry into the house follows.

These cases happened years ago, haven't seen any new ones for a while.

Move to Canada, we have seedbanks in this country and they're sweet places. Not to mention if you get caught with pot, the police usually just make you dump it down a sewer drain while they watch.

Pot will be legal here within' the next 5 years I bet too and the DEA in the US will be pissed...they're already fighting a war they cannot possibly win. Legal weed in Canada will be the DEA's nightmare.

Oh and never ever open your house door for a cop, even if he just wants to talk. NEVER!!! If he has a warrent, the door would've been kicked in and not have a cop knocking...they're grasping at straws. They're called tap and raps or knock and talks...all he has to do is say he smells pot once your door is open and you're in for a world of a mess.. They'll do all the tricks in the book then to bust you. NEVER open a door for a cop!

if you have the option, put in a door intercom, that takes out 'i smelled weed when the door was opened'

if i felt like talking to a cop for some odd reason, i would come around from the back.. if they ask why, ask em why the sky is blue.. just because wtf are they gonna do because you meet em out front.. not a damn thing.. obviously would not talk to em if i were blazed lol. knowing bacon, that would give them "probable cause". again, why it is best to just let em keep knocking lol.
