A tale of 2 clones - 1 has a problem

I am an experienced hydro grower trying out soil and am having a little problem hopefully someone can help with.

I have 2 cutting from the same mother, both were rooted for 2 weeks aeroponically, 1 was put in soil (gardner & bloome harvest supreme and perlite, no extra nutes) and the other in my usual hydrotron/dwc with Dutch Master 1/2 strength solution. Both are under 60w of CFL's

They are now about 3 weeks since transplant and the soil one, watered every 3 or so days with dechlorinated tap water, looks a little small and discolored. The hydo one looks great. Good growth and a nice green leaves.

Any advice?

Since you cloned from a mature plant the clone must eat. Clones cannot be treated like a seedling, meaning seedlings in soil need no food for the first 2-3 weeks. I think this is your clone issue, she just needs what you are giving the other one, food. Start out with 1/2 dose.....well anyways you know the drill....once she eats she'll get better. 6.5 ph for soil.........Hope this helps and keep ua posted:weed:

one more thing, she is not over or under watered. Since you haven't watered in 4 days on this go around with water add the nutrients.

yea its hungry not overwatered............ but just because he hadn't watered in 4 days is no way to describe it, plants use water more or less at points in its life and if its in a pot too big that will effect dry time aswell but clearly this looks hungry but take it slow you need to nurse it back to health not jam food down its throat

Well, what do you know? No drowning, no burn and I have both my eyes, even after adding some 1/2 strength nute water.

I figured the Garder & Bloome soil, with all the organics already in it, would have provided enough food for a small clone. Apparently not. After watering with some nutes the leaves look much better.

Thanks guys for your advise.
