CFL's are good for close up growing. I mainly use my cfl's for keeping clones under or small spare mother plants. You can get buds off of plants grown with cfl's but u def need a few. Check out Roseman. He has some CFL grows that are very well done. He includeds many details. Good luck. Peace.

A good rule is to have 100 to 200 watts (actual not equivalent) per plant. Also, if you want to see good growth make sure that they are 6500k (kelvins) for your veg phase and a mix of 6500k and 2700k for your flowering phase. Ive seen people pull 6.5oz off of their plants using just cfls. So dont worry about it. An added benefit is saving energy and keeping heat levels down.

i have 4 100 watt bulbs per plant equivalent all 6500k but do i really need around 7 100 watt bulbs?

there 26 watts and there 100watt (Equivalent)
hmm not sure man never used CFL but i thought i could help. you might need the 26 watts to be up to 200 watts for a plant. So 26x7=182 so maybe 7 bulbs for a plant but I might be wrong.

I was saying, you need at least 100 watts for each plant to produce a decent return, you can add as many as you want after that bare minimum. You can grow with less, but for the time and output its better to get into the higher wattage. You could put 1000 watts over and around a plant and then your return would be amazing, but its not really worth it. Get me?
When it comes to cfls the equivalent wattage doesnt mean shit, so go by actual wattage. Keep your bulbs nice and close to the plant, if you can put your hand between the bulb and the plant and its not too hot, then you are perfect.

no man you need at least 5-8 for one plant with 26w bulbs. why dont you just preflower them and get the males out of there instead of buying 15 lights. they are ok now cuz they are small but when they are big you need alot more light.

At the moment they are fine. But once they get a little taller and start to fill out, you are going to find that your light isnt going to be enough. I have 150watts on one plant, this allows me to get at it from all angles and will increase my bud sites ability to create the energy they need to form good dense buds.
Id suggest saving some money and getting 8 more of the bulbs you have now, make sure tho you mix up the kelvins for veg and flower. 6500k for veg, 2700k for flower. Keep 100 watts on each plant, keep them close together so they can share light.
If you cant get more bulbs just go with what you got. Odds are all 3 arent going to be female.

Ok, sounds good. Just remember that for flowering you are going to need to add some 2700k's cuz thats the spectrum they use to bloom. The desire here is to mimic nature as closely as possible, and when flowering happens in nature the sun is giving off that respective spectrum, blue light(6500k) / red light(2700k).
Good luck with your grow and hope to see an awesome yield!
