i wouldnt do it! i have that thing at it sucks balls!! it was 7 bucks..cmon get 14 more buck and buy a ph meter..dont beat around the bush...

If your not looking to spend much money i would do like Ludacris said and go to walmart and get a cheap PH tester...they also have a ph/moisture/light meter that's a couple bucks more....the light meter meter doesn't really work due to the fact that it only goes to 2000 lumens , but the moisture and PH works well for me.:leaf: directions on it

Well funny I was discussing this very topic with the better half just today regarding a recent acid loving plant she just planted. I was always taught that if a particular patch of dirt was capable of growing evergreen trees that was a sign the soil had an acidic slant to it. Whereas if you couldn't grow a pine, cedar etc. it meant the soil was alkaline (as in Death Valley). I told her to draw up a 5 gallon bucket of water and get it to the right PH and dump it. Our city water supply is always high in PH where if it happens to rain thats slightly acidic She started arguing that there's a difference in PH and Alkalinity based on her experience of trying to keep the chemicals in the swimming pool balanced. I am way to busy to handle that chore so she has been appointed to the task. Think I might be about ready to backhand the fire out of her.

repeating the same thing over and over again and the newbies still want to disagree telling me i am wrong.
they cant tell me nothing as they no off nothing to tell they just come on and post B.S hoping to get repp and points for it :lol::lol::lol::lol:.

i wouldnt use that ph/moist/light meter combo... i got it and it sucks..shows me 2 different reading in the same bucket...but what do you expect for 6 bucks....maybe it work's for some...but a water ph meter will leave no doubt..


who you referring 2 luda?

if you need a quick cheap fix go to the hardware store and get a liquid based tester or a swimming pool ph test kit will work as well but i would recommend a proper ph tester

No they won't. Won't test low enough to be of use I have one for the hot tub and will go as low as 6.8, aquarium ones are the same, fish don't swim in 5.5 water. If you want one that will you are looking at over $100.. why not just buy a ph meter for $20?

you can buy a water ph test kit from any fish/pet store for testing the waters ph(not the soils ph).
they are very accurate as i have used mine many times on different sources of water.
